DIY RotopaX Fuel Can Mount for RV/Camper Ladder or Roof Rack
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.3 года назад
In this video I explain the mounting system I made for my Rotopax fuel containers. This mount can be clamped to almost anything strong enough to enable you to carry Rotopax fuel cans on an RV or vehicle without adding much weight and costs about $50 to make yourself. Jeep JKU MBRP Exhaust System Sound
Просмотров 24 тыс.11 лет назад
This is a video showing the MBRP exhaust system I just installed on the 2008 Jeep JKU. Its was a pain getting the old stock one off cause it was so rusty. The new MBRP has got a nice low rumble at idle that you can barely hear in the cab and when you lay on the skinny pedal its got a nice growl to it. Enjoy

Is your truck a 2500 or 3500
It’s nice having a Northern Lite camper
nice melly bro!
Great info… thanks
great set up. high way mpg?.
Thank you for the. Idea, what are you planning to specifically do to keep the condensation down for under the mattress ?
Nice thorough tour. I do wish you had talked more about what it's like actually living in it though.
Thanks for taking the time to make this. I really want to get this camper and its nice to see such a detailed overview! Cheers have fun
Great advice !
2wd in, 4wd out is some of the best advice for solo exploring.
Thanks for the video. What model of Cooper do you have? Are they load range F rated?
Of course, happy to share. Thanks for watching. They are the Cooper STT Maxx in a 295/70r18 size. They are E rated but with a limit of 4080lbs each.
Goog info
How thick are the steel plates?
1/4 inch but it may have been a bit overkill. 3/16 should work as well
I see you have a Rotopax attatched to the ladder? can you show how you mounted it? iv been wanting to do the same things to my lance 815.
Yes they are 2 gallon Rotopax but it should work with 3 gallons too. I have a video going over how I made the mount, you can find it on my channel videos page. Thanks for watching.
I'll use the ladder much more than as a hanger but maybe on the roof. So you don't go up on the roof?
I go up on the roof fairly often, I just carefully use the open rungs on the side and above to clamber up there. It does require a bit of flexibility but it works for me
Sweet rig. Must be pretty cool to have your house with you no matter where you go. The spot you're in looks pretty nice for boondocking. Thanks.
Nice video 👍🏼
Excellent walk through! You are so thorough and well spoken man. I subscribed! I had a camper and full timed it back in 97 before all this. A basement camper is key for four seas9n use. I had a class C on a Ram chassis...look up Scerro Scotty! Great job and best wishesm. But the music sucks 😅
What brand and model is ur TV?
What have you done about condensation in cold weather?
I have a froli suspension system under the mattress that elevates it a couple inches and then I also use Eva-dry mini dehumidifiers that require no power. That handles it pretty well for me. In freezing temps I crack a window at night as well.
This is very inspirational.
COuld I ask you if that is a 6'4" short box or 8' long box?? Thanks!
It is a 8’ long box!
Great tour! I'm looking at the 9-6 or 10-2. Thank you for your insight!
Why did you put tape on outside pak? Uv protection?
To make it yellow for diesel, since the actual yellow version had been out of stock for awhile when I ordered.
@@LocallyNomadic I bought 2 diesel ones that size, and wish I had bought one gas (generator) and 1 diesel. I'm not sure I can put gas in the diesel one though.
Nice walk through. I have an older 9'6'' sportsman. Interesting to see what is the same and what is new! Thanks for the video.
Nice video. I see you are running a Dodge Cummins. I have a 2003 Dodge Cummins quad cab long box 4X4 SRW and the GVWR is 9900 pounds. I think that only leaves me with about 2800 pounds of payload which wouldn't allow me to carry a camper like yours. What is your payload and how do you find the camper and truck for roll, and bouncing around etc when you are driving?
Thanks. My payload is over 4200lbs since its a one ton srw, they rate the newer trucks higher but I would think yours is similarly capable if its a 3500. The bouncing isn’t bad because I have airbags plumbed independently, it sways on low speed drop offs a bit more than I’d like so I plan to get a sway bar for the rear at some point.
Nice camper and nice run down on what it has. I am researching campers for myself. Have fun!
Great video, yours was a big influence on my decision to go with a NL 9-6, I just picked it up on Wednesday! Happy trails!
Hey how's it going with the TC? You still full timing in it??!!
Thanks for sharing! When you sit up in bed does your head ever touch or come close to touching?
Yes my head does hit barely when sitting up and I’m just under 6ft tall but its not bad.
@@LocallyNomadic i ended up going big with an arctic fox 990 now i wish i had a bigger truck haha
Great videos 👏 good luck and keep it up man ❤️
13:28 when your voice …
Great video. One question, can you still use the tow hitch with the over hang of the camper? Id have a little car id like to tow dolly behind mine in the event i got one.
You can use a hitch if you get a 12 inch extension. Torklift also makes 2 tube heavy duty extension for heavy trailers.
Good Job.
Nice - very functional. How warm is it in the winter???
I can keep it at 74 degrees when it's zero outside.
I like the design. I have been thinking of doing the same on my Lance 855S. I had thought of using 6061-T6 aluminum C channel as the cross bars rather than steel. Much lighter, corrosion resistant and doesn't need painting. Great job.
nice idea but wondering about the bag you have attached to the ladder above the cans. What kind of bag? How does it attach? and what do you have in it?
Thanks, it's called a Trasharoo bag. It waa originally designed for spare tires but works quite well on the ladder too, I use it to keep my trash in. It works quite well for most kinds of debris as its a tough ripstop material, including trash found while out exploring.
Fantastic review.. your fridge is bigger than mine.. would love to know how long a "hot shower" is..once you have finished your travels come and explore New Zealand you will love it..
How shower can last maybe 7 minutes if it's on fully, 10+ with turning it on and off to soap up. But I can also keep the camper toasty warm so that helps! I definitely hope to explore New Zealand sometime in the future
Sweet setup.
Cool video thanks for sharing
Cool vid...👍
That was fantastic! One of the best walk through I have ever seen! I'm looking at a unit and this is perfect. Thanks
instablaster...
My biggest aggravation is they waste valuable real estate adding a sink to the bathroom. Campers don't need 2 sinks.
YES!!! I don't get it at all either, makes no sense to me. I saw someone who deleted the sink to make more shower room, I may do the same.
When was the last time you saw truck camper on the road.
Hey man, great video! Based on your and many other vids i think i am prob going with this model. I have the same exact truck as well. Have you ever weighed your rig and if so what did it come out to. I would like to tow a small boat as well with this but concerned about payload. Did you buy it with all the options? sticker weight is nice and low, Do you know the overall total height to the top of your A/C. Thx, sorry for all the questions.
My rig weighs over 12k loaded for full timing but if it’s a small boat it definitely might be doable if you watch your tire weight. I did buy it with all the options so it’s 2700+ empty. To the top of the A/C is 11’6” I believe but I go with 12’ as my limit to be safe. Thanks for watching!
can you make vlogs like Taylor dzman. you live in beautiful place just like him
Enjoy! Looks awesome
Awesome I might do something similar since I just order a ladder for my subaru.
canada?
Close, filmed in central Idaho.
How well do those 4g extenders work in your real world experience?
I've found it to be definetly worth the money. It boosts almost no signal to 3-4 bars. However I've also been surprised by how many places I've gotten service while in the middle of nowhere. So if one doesn't need to stream/upload video then you could maybe get by without. But as I said, It has been well worth the money for me.
