Hello, The one I’m wearing is a British made Game wax stockman coat. They come in a couple of different colours. Waxable and then it’s completely waterproof. Before I waxed mine it did let water in. Hope that helps.

Only about 10 minutes but he was very young there and you’re right. Collies especially. Despite a much bigger garden nowadays we still walk him many miles everyday. They need the stimulation . He’s never damaged the tiniest thing since.

A horse and maybe smoke Philip Morris Marlboro. Unfortunately there’s no visiting the saloon or gun slinging during lockdown.

That’s an amazing hotel in the New Forest (south coast). They catered for our Border Collie (Blue Merle) as well as they did for us. So good! The guys dressed up in the film were holding a charity convention raising money for children in need. Amazing chaps.... we laughed for hours.

@@englishcountryliving448 It takes guts do dress up the way he did, without losing a bet, lol, for a good cause. The collie looked eager to herd those sheep, they didn't even flinch, they knew he was a novice.

It sure does but I reckon the beard gives it away haha. As for our Blue Merle I think he wants the sheep to chase him. I’m pretty sure it should be the other way around.. He’s only 1 year old so there’s time to reevaluate. Currently he’s rather partial to long horned cattle with Squirrels his absolute fav.

With 370 years of thatched roof on there it’s a pretty big pile. Having used the nature cam we were astonished to see the diversity of wildlife frequenting what we called “snake alley.” So we left it to the adders, grass snakes, muntjacs, deer, hares , rabbits and the pheasants. They were there long before us. We just take some to seed the vegetables.

@@englishcountryliving448 I was wrong about putting mulch in closed bins, needs to stay aerated somehow or fungus will grow on them. I should read about thatched roof maintenance, I like architecture and DIY info. I do some home improvement work in my home. I'm a wildlife enthusiast, like watching and learning from tv shows, never heard of muntjacks, will look it up.

Yes the Muntjacs aren’t native as such. The story goes that some escaped from Woburn wildlife park (imported from China and Asia) during the early 1800’s. They’re now well established in SE England.

@@englishcountryliving448 I live in the suburbs, but always wanted a a home in the mountains for part of the week or month. I tend to need both the city and the countryside equally. Working remotely nowadays makes it more possible to have both.

Yes indeed. As Samual Johnson once said... “Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” I do still agree but I much prefer to visit than live there these days.

What kind of writing do you do? A software company implies programming? I’ve shifted more towards the environment and climate change these days.

Hello back from England and thank you for watching. Yes, I believe dating back to the 15th century thanks to the ingenuity of Scottish seafarers. Our house dates back to circa 1650 so all these older traditions seem to resonate through the oak beams. Makes you wonder how many modern things will still be around in another 370 years :-)

Essex Aikido Dojo (Shoshinkan) Thank you Shaun. It’s a little daunting on here and takes fortitude as you know. We’ll persevere and make it fun. Surreal times we find ourselves in but beer in the tap waiting. We still need to rearrange our wedding for next year too. A get together for the kind hearted.

Funnily enough the smell made us hungry... So we ate the bread. Yum!
