How about pirastro originals or flat chrome? Also were the spiro weichs that you tried 3/4 specific? Those ones tend to work better under the bow in my experience
have you tested spirocore medium red red for the A and E strings?
I own a set of Spiracore Medium for occasional jazz playing and pizzicato recording. I wouldn’t consider them for orchestra playing (although I’ve briefly used them in orchestra when I needed them otherwise for pizz purposes). No doubt that my moderate concerns about the response of the Light is augmented when using the Medium set with a bow.
What would be your ideal mix on your bass for daily orchestra work?
In summary, my ideal mix is Bel Canto for the upper 3 strings and Flexicor Deluxe for the low C. However, using Flexicor Deluxe as a complete set is a close 2nd, and substituting a Perpetual G string into a set is something I would also be happy to do.

7TH SET ALSO REVIEWED! I nearly forgot that during the several years I spent going back and forth between these strings, I once tested Passione: true to its reputation, it is strikingly similar to Bel Canto in tone and feel, but when I compared them back to back, Bel Canto came out a bit better in both power/depth and response, so it wasn't a test I felt I needed to revisit. And let me also clarify: I was only referring to the Flexocor Deluxe low C String as sounding more powerful (at least under the ear and from standing a few meters in front of the bass) than the sets that otherwise offer more presence. I wasn't referring to the set as a whole.
