The timing belt CANNOT be overstated on a zero tolerance engine. I was thinking about getting my timing belt changed soon after I acquired the car, and I hesitated for a few months. Then it snapped.. GG motor.... That is a very expensive gamble if you get it wrong ~

I had to drive my 3G for months without working gauge lights cause the rheostat died, and because it's a discontinued part, I couldn't find one. I only found a replacement a week ago on Ebay.

I can tell how less stiff it is just from the front cam; that's amazing. The upper rear tilt it has going around corners is super weird, but it looks so smooth.

Cant hear them unless your under a load.. driving with gas pressed forcing the exhaust thru them.

I don’t like the final body style of the eclipse from the late 2000s as well as the infamous lime green you talked about, but the early 2000s ones like yours are my favorite. Realistically the GT has a 3.0L V6 making 200 hp stock so I never understood why people say this isn’t a good car for modification as it wouldn’t be too hard to get it to 400-500 hp if you wanted to.

Bought my loaded 2001 Spyder GT with 5 speed in March. Paid too much, put 5g in so far. Dont care, its a keeper. Was owned 20 years by a chick who took good care of it. Thinking light purpke or candy green apple paint job next. Then a new exhaust.

I just picked up an almost mint '03 Spyder. Interior is mint, paint is almost mint and with only 62k miles. $5000.

Hey i have an 03 gts spider 3.0l automatic. Im having a problem with it that i cant figure out. It doesnt want to stop accelerating which makes it hard to come to a stop. Throttle sensors have been changed and fixed all small Vacuum leaks and all relays are working just fine. And is not throwing any codes. Do you have any idea what it could be?

I think I may have seen you before in person. Did you ever go to some drag strip or whatever in Mohnton Pennsylvania or somewhere in that area? I feel I definitely know you from there.

What model is this engine?? Bc I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi coupe and it has the same engine 3.0 V6 but what model engine is it bc I know the gen 3 eclipse, starudus , Sebring ,3000gt etc have the same model but what is the name ?

Bought a 2001 Spyder GT 5 speed fully loaded in May. Pouring money into engine, underbody welds up front and rust proofing. Yesterday was new alternator and pulley. Previous 20 year owner was a gal who had a lot of suspension and steering work done. New clutch, starter and battery too. Gonna paint it purple. Year or two new exhaust and tires. These things are quick with 5 speed, ride and corner great. I think the body style is sharp, better looking than many new German drop tops. She'll be a keeper. Very few 5 speed loaded Spyders for sale out there. I think they'll become a collector car in some years from now.

So what is the horsepower gain in doing this ?

Fun fact the 2004 dash is made a little stronger so mine is still unfucked after so many years XD

I have that same setup and it’s super dangerous for puddles went threw one on a rainy day instant misfire and it shut off for like 3 days till after I changed the oil, dried off the distributor, and for safety pulling the spark plugs out and turning it over a couple times it wasn’t fun getting through that situation
