This trip for trout followed an entirely different experience I had several days ago. The temps on this day rose enough to melt ice from evenings in the low 20s (Fahrenheit) a few days ago. I caught a few trout and one surprise catch. Rod - 6’ 6” light power moderate /fast action Reel - 1000 Line - 4lb monofilament Lures - size 1 mepps spinner & 2” Rebel trackdown

@@iOwnASubaru Thanks! York
@ nice! I’m in Montgomery. Getting more into trout fishing specifically and have had such a fine time exploring the state. I’m used to bass, panfish and catfishing, so trout is new to me and it’s super fun to watch these videos of PA anglers, u got my sub
@ That’s cool. Think I’ll be scoping a few creeks this coming season in northern PA. Thanks man!
Some nice action, especially for the winter! 👊👊

Love it my man!!! It shocked me too…
Awe Yeah!!!
The river was low on water but that is not enough to stop master Tony from having a great fishing day. Have a great weekend and good fishing my brother 💯🎣🎣🎣💯
@@jp-pesca Thanks, JP! Same to you.
Way to keep on going Tony! 💪 Sometimes just fishing a new spot is reward enough. Glad it paid off with some nice brown beauties.
@@BankFishingAdventures “new spot is reward enough”, exactly! Thanks Stacee!
Nice blues! Shallow waters but you eventually found a few decent spots... Surprised I didn't see you post an ice fishing video, maybe soon, right? Beautiful browns... so it says online that "holdovers" gill plates turn blue when they have been in a creek for longer periods or are approaching the breeding season... interesting. Great stuff Tony!
@@excursionamericaexa Define ice fishing cause I’ll never stand on a frozen lake and fish. I’d rather walk creeks with ice floating downstream or have frozen edges. Stock trout can develop similar color characteristics like that of wilds. I see tons of conflicting info on sights about it. I can tell you this… Wilds have blue cheeks, blackish specks haloed with white, yellowish bottom halves, reddish adipose fins, red dots, unclipped or non droopy fins and typically thinner since they’re not spoon fed pellets on a daily basis. Even if a stock adapts a color or two, wilds will be distinctly different. Take a snapshot from last week’s vid of a stock compared to one that I claim to be wild and you should be able to recognize the differences. To this day I haven’t recognized a stock trout with blue cheeks, but I cannot say they don’t exist. Always appreciate your comments Dave, thank you!
@@MeTimeFishing I should of put one of those little lol so you knew I was being humorous... just joking because of all the snow and ice on the east coast... see a lot more up there in PA. Thanks for the inforation... you catch so many trout they all blend in, lol. I understand what you are saying.
I've never seen stocked trout get blue spots on their cheeks.
Seemed like a bit of a grind…but you ended up with a pretty good day! Great video my man!
@@AverageDadFishing Before the 1st couple I was contemplating turning around. Glad I pressed on. Appreciate it, Tom!

I love brook trout. Haven’t caught one since back in the day. 8:40 what a gorgeous brown. Awesome capture with the underwater Palomino. Solid rainbow as well 👍 Good stuff brother👊
@@bogolyskeepingitreel Appreciate it Chris, thanks! Last yr was my last brookie, a lot longer since a Palomino.
Beautiful Winter stretch of stream for this video. Nice to see you are still catching. It almost looks like you might pull a Pike out of there. You had some beautiful catches. ⭐️🔥🎣

Intro with the coffee was hilarious!🤣 Slow start but you came into some good ones Tony! Pretty cool to see that many paliminos in one trip. I couldn't believe how close that palomino was while you were getting the under water footage. Tom putting the smackdown on the trout.💪 Bad cast are only bad if you don't catch a fish. Well I've had a bunch of bad cast today.😆 Fun time thanks for sharing Tony.
@@BankFishingAdventures 😃 Thanks, Stacee! Greatly appreciated.

Beautiful looking water my brother and you and your friend caught some beautiful trout. Have a blessed weekend and good fishing 🙏💯🎣

2 great fisherman tore it up in the chilly temps... probably why your casting was off a bit... cold/stiff fingers. Nice rainbows and browns and perhaps you will get those palomino another time soon. I tried for a couple hours today at the Mayo River but got shut out... snow flurries so was a cool trip. Way to start the year off strong Tony!
@@excursionamericaexa Once people recognize that location, palomino… gone. I’ll check back once in a while to see if I can get on it though. Bummer with the Mayo trip. Thanks Dave!

@MeTimeFishing Cool. Would really like to know what you were using in that video. Looks a lot like my home waters but I know it's not. I noticed you went from stick baits to spinners all on the same gear as well. What line size also were you using?
@ 4lb mono. I usually throw my 2” jerkbait and then follow up with a 0 or 1 spinner.

@@nathanm2571 Thanks, Nathan!
Great job in those frozen waters Tony! Nice browns and big fall fish. Glad you didn't step in a hole in those sketchy parts... How far are you from brook trout waters? Way to tear them up!
@@excursionamericaexa That area could hold stocked brookies, but that creek is over 50 miles long. Although it looks similar, it is a different creek than the last 2 weeks. This one is stocked in many locations throughout, but fishing in winter is added toughness. It’s picked apart and less holdover trout. Spoiler - Next week’s vid one was caught much higher upstream.
