@MrHypnoEyez they catch enoug flies in the greenhouse. and this is a trap wich is a little bit older it already closed 4 or 5 times. this plant is for making seed so we can sel Dionaea next year to.

@KingofSims84 unfortunately he eat it the first time already, i dint had a second one so... we had to do it like this. the stik became shorter every time we tried.

@albertopedras yep, 1 trap only closes and opens 8 times after that it will die. the plant is also able to get fertilizer by the roots. never do this. this is a demonstration beause a lot of people think the big hairs at the site of the trap triggers a closing but the hairs insite are doing the real work, they are hardly to be seen. we are growing these plants and i used one to show the world.

@TruncataDionaea MAybe you give him fertilizer. don't feed to much, beter not at all. make shure it does not become to dry because than you kill it. they don't need much but drying out will kill them . to much water will kill them as wel or they get infected by a fungus ( Phytium)

@501rubra we dont feed them this way when we feed them it is with fertilizer just in the pot

Every snap is allot of energy wasted by the plant that's why it only closes at the second touch to meek shure that it's a insect and u aren't feeding it. It can dye

rubra501, I know it. this proves that it needs two small hairs to trigger the trap of this Dionaea. the trap closes max 8 times and will grow slowly to open again. many people think you have to trigger the hairs at the outsite of the leaves but this film proves the oposite. and I dont close the traps on purpose becaus i know how long it takes to get opend again.
