This is a picture slideshow that I put together as a tribute to Dick Winn who I had the pleasure of knowing for 20 years and was a great friend and band mate with Win Place and Show. Dick passed away on Sunday January 10th 2021. The photos were from 2000 - 2015. In the background is 5 songs that Dick recorded on his last trip to Nashville TN in 2014. I also added a few live videos at the end of...

I was there. I’m the one who caught coopers cane during Schools out. I’m also the person Riggs spit blood at after Dragula😂
Beautiful... Thank you for this. 🇨🇦 🤙
Respectfully done....it's beautiful. The foundation did a wonderful job. A beautiful place for their souls to rest. God bless all who were affected by this tragedy.
🕯️🤍🕯️
unlessthesepeople asked for forviance of there sins in there last breath..there not in heaven god doesnt hang out in dens of sin sorry to say
What a disgusting comment.
What a serene and beautiful place!...at least now they can rest in the morning dew and in peace. 🙏💐
I use to work there when it was a restaurant .
Kudos and high praise to the reginal benefactors and all contributors to this beautiful and dignified memorial. It is brilliantly designed and provides mediation and information for the visitor and communicates the sacredness of the space and the enormity of the loss. It may provide some degree of mercy and closure to the family and friends of the fallen in this hard working American community.
They should have Desert Moon playing on endless loop LOL
What a wonderful memorial. RIP
Thank you Very much for this video. You done a Fantastic job recording, and giving a thorough view of such a Beautiful Memorial, and giving us the sounds and view of really being there and respecting the wonderful people, and remembering them all.
Thank you. I felt so many emotions here. I had read so much about this tragedy and once i got there i was numb. I was silent in memory of all those that died and those who were affected by this tragedy. It was the best way to honor them.
Wow..this is really nice...
What a horrible accident, I've been playing in bands all my life and mostly jammed in little clubs like this, i ALWAYS scouted my exit plan, was doing it yrs before this even happened, this just made me even more vigilant.
Jack Russell is a performer I know everyone wants to blame someone and I get it but imo he’s been as humble and respectful as possible. He’s not the one to blame here
He is one of those to blame maybe not solely, but he was not "innocent" in this tragedy. There are a lot of people to blame for this terrible tragedy. The shame is only one person really stepped forward and accepted responsibility and that was Dan Biechele, the tour manager who set off the pyrotechnics. And in the grand scheme of things, he was the least responsible as demonstrated when families of victims (both who died and those who survived and were injured) wrote letters of support for him and said they think he was a "scapegoat" for the entire tragedy. It was the people that ALLOWED this tragedy to happen that are responsible. Jack Russell does bear some responsibility. Was it intentional? Of course not, but it was his band and his decision of how to conduct his band and in this case, using pyrotechnics was part of it. But also the Fire Marshall that never "noticed" the flammable foam on the wall who also increased the capacity of the Station at least twice, or the club owners for buying and installing the cheaper flammable foam and for not having fire extinguishers accessible or for allowing way more people than the legal capacity or allowing the use of pyrotechnics in their club in such a dangerous place. There was evidence of at least 10 other performances of artists that had performed there with pyrotechnics prior so their baseless claim "they didn't know or agree to it" was a lie. And also the bouncer who once the fire started would not let people out the band door. There is a lot of blame, some more than others. This really is one of the worst tragedies ever, not just because of the life lost and injured but for the fact that no one truly was help responsible. There was never a trial. 100 people perished and not a single person was tried for that specifically. The club owners pled no contest and let their insurance policy pay the maximum and then they filed bankruptcy, the Fire Marshall could not be held responsible because of regulations in the town so he wasn't even seen in court, same with the band I.E. Jack Russell, his insurance policy (with a maximum payout of 1 million dollars) didn't face any criminal charges whatsoever. The entire thing was very sad. I by no means consider myself an expert but i have done lots of research on this including reading the books that have been written and seen and read almost all of the police reports, witness statements etc. This tragedy really hit home for me. That's why visiting and playing my respects meant so much to me. It was all i could do to honor those who were taken that night.
@@majestyytsejam Very well said.
Such a sad night isn't this where the club once stood
yes
Thanks for this. Surreal to see what was once a location where people were supposed to just have a good time, as a brief escape from the difficulties of work, school and other things. And now its a memorial site for a horrible tragedy.
Very well done, your silence while filming adds to the solemnity. Very beautiful place, a lot of care and planning.
I went there for the first time a few days ago. Very somber and sad. There was an older woman sitting in front of one of the victims stone and was talking to her daughters picture. Very very sad.
This is a beautiful place...a place where loved ones can come to reflect and hopefully find peace...memorials are erected to honor those that lost their lives so they would not have died in vain...my wife was killed in a motorcycle accident 7 yrs ago...there is a motorcycle memorial in Ohio called Motorcycle Memorial Foundation...my wife's name is inscribed on that wall...it reminds me of the Vietnam Memorial in Wash DC...RIP to those that left us too soon...
We Americans have too many of these memorials.
If the survivors of this horrific incident meet up give each other a good long hug.
WOW!, This is really Beautiful and Relaxing after seeing that horrendous video of people being burned while trying to escape a fire in a building. Who's the BFI (BRAIN FRIED IDIOT) that thought it would be ok to display pyro techniques inside a building.
It’s a beautiful memorial. I know there is the one step dedicated to the survivors, but it seems like there should at least be a plaque listing their names as well. While they didn’t die in the fire, their lives were forever changed by the negligence of others.
Well maybe that could occur in the future. I think it took a lot of pulling just to get this remembrance site constructed. From what I understand, the building and land before the fire was due to be sold.
Wish U had shown the headstones and some of the people.
It's a beautiful memorial. The rock and roll touch with the records and the individual name markers looking like stage monitors is fitting for a memorial for rock fans.
For all that are responsible, live with that!
See what greed does, blinds u from common sense.
Beautiful park. Nicely done west Warwick. I can't stop thinking, after all this time, shouldn't have happened! Could have been prevented!
The entrance monument looks like Stonehenge (HA!) and I'll bet GW weren't expecting this much attention. That band is tainted.
Thanks for showing me around... After having read the books and watched the videos, I feel I know many of the poor souls hurt or killed here... What a beautiful place---
Is this on the exact site of the nightclub??
Soviet Onion 72 yes
Monica D Thanks
Thank you for sharing, Majesty! I saw in photos released at the time of the park's opening that there was an error on one of the timeline tiles. It stated that only 355 people were in the club when the fire broke out. The official number was at least 459. I wrote two e-mails to the foundation but heard nothing back. Was the error ever fixed?
Just curious...is there something symbolic about the individual memorials being somewhat randomly spaced around the circles?
A new Station Fire Memorial Park was unveiled yesterday in remembrance of the Station nightclub fire that occurred in West Warwick, RI, on February 20, 2003. The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of 100 people. According to the Providence Journal, the new park features 10 circles of 10 monuments, each inscribed with the name and a portrait of community.nfpa.org/community/nfpa-today/blog/2017/05/22/station-fire-memorial-park-unveiled-at-dedication-ceremony-yesterday-in-west-warwick-ri May 22, 2017
How. Did. I. Find. This.
I will echo most everyone else's comments - thank you very, very much for even thinking to do a video like this and uploading it here for all to see! I am too far away to be able to visit where my friends died, and this is about as close as I will get. It's very much appreciated. May they sleep in peace...
If you know what a hug is.... And then one day a friend suddenly dies horrifically, that hugs is ((GONE)), always cherish a hug and remember it. I wish I knew what a spiritual hug feels like, its probably a deep down tingle inside of you
Even the memorial parks are corporate sponsored FML
It was the only way they could raise the money.
Exactly what I thought. If it was truly about the victims, those sponsors wouldn't have wanted the attention. ALWAYS an agenda. R.I.P. to all those who perished & prayers to those who lived on.
Very, very impressive. Really touches my heart. Thank you!!
This is my metal band in High School 1992 or so....Thank you for posting this! I was the 2nd guitar "awkward" dude with shorts!
Thanks.
Awesome job, stunning memorial! No disrespect ment to anyone, those lost...friends and family but I'm just wondering. Has anyone ever seen or heard anything strange around this location? If there is any place on earth that could be haunted, with the tragic event that night....I'm thinking this location that holds so much pain and heart ache may have a few spirits roming around.
Finally complete. The closest thing to 'closure' as we will ever get - if there can ever be closure from such an event. Just curious about 1:30 the stenciling on the round benches resembles the little adaptors placed inside 45rpm records to play them on a standard record player.
You are correct. On all of the benches at the center of each section has this design.
round benches were 45 records.
Why was this $1.5 million? what here cost that much? (no disrespect)
The cost of perpetual maintenance for... well, forever.
Worth every penny.0
Michael Uhlir I sure hope that the fucking Dedarian brothers who were mostly responsible for the fire ( or at least the number of deaths) didn’t get the money that was paid for the land in order to build the memorial on it!
I live in Warwick so this is not too far from my home. Many of us Rhode Islanders have forgotten already, but this monument is always here to remind us whenever we see it, to not make those same mistakes again
I wouldn't say forgotten as much as there is a new generation of young adults out there now who were really too young or perhaps not even born yet when the fire took place. I'm 35 now and I was 15 when this happened and a regular local news watcher since I didn't have cable and I'm probably one of the younger people who still recall this disaster without actually personally knowing someone who perished in it. I know your comment was 4 years ago, but for what its worth, Great White was scheduled to play at Mohegan Sun close to the 20th-anniversary date of the fire and it still caused a local outcry to postpone the show. Great White hasn't played Rhode Island since and I don't think they'd be welcome anywhere in the state today in 2023. I don't believe they have even played Massachusetts either since the fire. I think everyone who was around remembers, its just eventually we have to move on, but I know for a fact that if GW tried booking a date in Rhode Island there would probably be protests and a lot of negative comments on social media towards the venue that booked them. I doubt any local club would go anywhere near that.
Very touching video. Thank you for posting.
Thank you for this video..That is a very lovely and touching tribute to those who lost their lives that night. Although, I don't understand the need for a timeline that size with some of the backstory of Great White and other club fires included? What the hell is this? some sort of contest? Personally, I find it very unnecessary to tell the story of the band's history. Instead, shouldn't that building been better suited to have letters and pictures from all the family members and loved ones of the victims ? I'd rather see that, than a fairly large structure paying some sort of odd tribute to the band/manager/club owners who inadvertently killed them.
The list timeline is heartbreaking! And it sucks Jack will forever be listed on there. So sad to think of all lives that were lost so tragically! Even a member of the band :(
PPP I’m not sure that he even died ... he had enough money to flee the country new identity probably couldn’t face the pain with what he witnessed.
I wish we could change the past.
Me too!
Robert Tomko: First one must find a gateway
We can still practice good fire safety in the future and avoid such tragic incidents.
I think a lot of us feel that way about a lot of things. They say things happen for a reason, no matter how terrible they may be. Rest in peace to those that passed and may peace come to those who lost part of their family that night.
Wow! BEAUTIFUL!.. the individual pictures .. so lovely..❤️
THEY SHOULD HAVE DESERT MOON JUST BLASTING ON SOME SPEAKERS OVER AND OVER
Jackhole. Show some respect
You asshole!
Just another ((B.F.I.)) TEXTING THERE THOUGHTS. Silence is ((Golden and Peaceful))
Dude get a life already. I see you everywhere on RUclips spewing nonsense. Have some respect smh
A tragedy put to rest for some very heat felt work and care put into the memorial thank you. Respectfully done for the victims families I don't have the correct words this tragedy has touched so many people. Thank you for the respectful video . R.I.P. Station Angel's
You are welcome. This tragedy hit home with me being in a band myself. I became more aware of my surroundings when being in public places. These 100 angels and all others affected did not go through this in vain. It was so emotional being there.
is it rite next to an airport??!!
