The Tigers of Scotland (2017) - Scottish Wildcat Documentary - Directors Cut (4K)
Просмотров 164 тыс.4 месяца назад
Narrated by Iain Glen, this independent natural history documentary investigates the Scottish Wildcat, their endangered status and the conservation efforts being undertaken to prevent their extinction. Scottish Wildcats are affectionately known as Highland Tigers. The name originates from their striped fur and that they’re not only one of Britain’s largest predators, but the UK’s only ‘big cat’...
I spent 10 months painting the world

Subtitles are approximate. I accept no responsibility for border disputes. This mural took 10 months (on and off) to complete. I would have liked to add more shading to the sea but I ran out of time. The painting measures 3.33x2.44m (11' x 8') for a total area of over 8 square metres (88 square feet) and is almost exactly 1:12,000,000 scale. Miraculously, the wall was exactly the right aspect r...

Astrophotography with the Canon 200mm f/1.8
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.4 года назад
The Canon EF 200mm f/1.8 is the fastest 200mm ever made and the longest sub-f/2 lens commercially available. It pairs wonderfully with the Canon C500mkII so I took it out to test the low light capabilities of both. Please consider supporting my biggest filmmaking adventure here www.patreon.com/CastleCrozier
This amazing lens costs less than £50 - Helios 44-2
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.4 года назад
I've begun a series of videos about 'legendary lenses' - unique, rare or otherwise iconic optics. They're not reviews, but discussions between myself and other lens geeks and gurus - think of them as a talk show about lenses! This is the first episode - naturally it had to be about the ultimate vintage lens, the Helios 44-2. I was fortunate to be joined by Alan Besedin of Vintage Lenses For Vid...
Thank you for sharing. I was alredy hiking twice in Scotland. Beside Scottish Whisky I also like the local Scottish (Craft) Beer scene. This is definitively a hike on my bucket list.
I find it better you got it straight from the brewery 🍻
Never add a lynx to our cats.
So gorgeous, thank you for sharing. Ian Glen please narrate everything…💞💞💞
How did the camera gear hold up with the Icing and cold temperatures? And even after brining the gear inside how did you manage not to get any water damage? Because I was thinking of going there or to Svalbard on a photo trip but was always a bit to scared about my gear with no weather sealing. Amazing video BTW
In these first few days the cameras held up just fine. Wait until the next two videos though!
Is this a re-upload? I believe I've watched this once before. Still a great video. Can't wait to see the full production.
Yes I re-edited the intro to explain the project better.
Awesome project - it kind of makes me to make a video out in these conditions and landscapes... although I'd need a bigger coat.
Amazing! I really loved the story telling and the amazing landscapes in this. You deserve a much bigger audience!
Perhaps a captive breeding population would be in order if possible
Sounds like a waste of money
Nothing like being rich
Epic video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done all, a well deserved beer. RIP Piper 😢
Imagine you're having a nice quiet evening of camping out and then these wankers come in and start screaming their fool heads off. No respect.
Wild cats. And Lynx. Don’t get on. And lynx bob cats etc will displace wildcats. Ok. I’m talking Scotland. There are no BOB CATS - LYNX .. if you introduced them Scottish wild cats would be finished ok. No joke
We all carry neanderthal genes". ?? Not me. 😊
Whit's aw this then, Jimmy? They are magnificent.
Australia has a huge problem with wild cats and obviously Scotland will suffer the same consequences. Irony being the RSPB complain of the number of song birds killed by domestic cats.
Is that you, Ser Jorah? 🤣🤣
Pay the farmers for losses due to Lynxs?
"Tell Dildrum that Doldrum is dead," is a simply a folk retelling of a work of fiction, "Beware the Cat" written by William Baldwin in the 16th century. You can find the text free online.
So an alley cat in the forest? Cool
Look how wide its face is, beautiful creature!❤
Seen one in a zoo. Looks almost identical to a domestic tabby cat.
What an excellent documentary!!!
If you lose a species, others numbers are not kept in check. Then you have numbers out of control.
This video was suggested to me and then I remembered that I met someone last week on the West Highland Way trail and got chattin, they mentioned they'd done this trek and that their pal had vlogged it and I thought to myself 'how weird would it be if it was this video'...and it is!! Hiya Sam! I met you and your pal with blisters in sunny Inversnaid! What are the chances 😂 Hope you guys made it to the Clachaig again and eventually Fort William 💙🏴🥾
dont agree wiyh releasing feral domestic cats , far too many feral and household cats out there and wild birds are suffering big time , people wont put bell collars on there cats either , this woman is not helping the wild animal population simple ask most wildlife people and they will agree with me
Domestic cats are nowhere near "pea-brained". If youre going to say disrespectful crap, maybe keep your scrawny ass off of animal documentaries.
In Sweden we've always had lynx. I don't see why people are hesitant about reintroducing them in the UK? Hardly anyone speaks about lynx being problematic to domesticated animals here. Wolves on the other hand are more prolific in their killing of domestic animals though. Some people want to kill all the wolves, which begs the question of why we think we have the right to kill anything that gets in our way? Surely we can sacrifice a few sheep to restore natural order of prey and predator? Populations of deer and other prey animals are out of control due to the lack of predators!
Beautiful cat❤❤❤❤
Nadherna kraska nenechte vymrit neco tak uzasneho co dela skotsko vyjimecnym dekuji
I think it would be safe to say that doctors were some of the villainess characters all throughout history...but now, they're trusted so blindly! Lol I can't wait to see what future historians say about them from this era...who know with technology it could turn out that ours are the worst 😂
So are these a relative of Pallas Cats or maybe even the American Bobcat ?
Jimmy you know the rules Boyle, Wee Man Paul Ferris, deep fried mars bars, the young team, tenants super, buckfast tonic wine.scotch whisky and haggis
Beautiful!!
The 5 sister zoo is introducing Scottish wildcats and also Lynx's . But game wardens will always poison and trap them for posh pricks to hunt grouse and have a few whiskeys then drive the car afterwards. Or they will cash in on it and idiots will hunt them instead . They even shoot birds of prey as it cuts into their profits . Same thing in africa elephants are almost gone but twats will shoot em and also lions etc . Next to none left in the wild at all but they get hunted anyway . I wouldnt shoot anything i wouldnt eat . Cows lambs pigs rabbit , pidgeon . Things like owls and buzzards and kestrals etc no point in blasting them if you wont eat it .
There is also the Caracal Lynx which is found in Africa and parts of Asia ...
strathaven is pronounced straeven, some of the words are prnounced differently to how they are written. this cat is so similar to domestics it's amazing
This is the Scottish trying their best to hype their country & its wildlife up. It’s a tabby cat & that’s why nobody cares less
And here I thought the Scottish wildcat was from the imagination of Marion Chesney Beaton 😊 What a delightful, beautifully produced, informative, and wonderfully narrated documentary! I visited Scotland several times in my life. The Highlands are what I most remember, and would love again to see, smell, and hear. Thank you so much!
Less than 200 Florida panthers left.
Just ask the professional.
Scotland is beautiful!
There's an easy way to tell the difference between Domestic and Wild cats. Wild Cats prefer Fancy Feast whereas Domestic cats prefer Whiskas. Ofc, both hate Friskies.
It was shut! That'll be right! Typical.
We have that lynx cat in Sweden. I used to have a cat that lived in the forest for many i years and took wild rabbits and other prays. He was huge comparing to ordinary cats
