hi wait youre so cool what
REALEST REACTION EVER
Hiii wait I love this comment!!!! thank you 💗
I love your video! But I feel like it would be nicer to watch, with a little background music! 😊
❤
first comment<3 I just found your page, you have such a cool vibe im abt to go watch all yr other vids
Yay!!! Thank you 💗
I liked most of the things you want to 'deinfluence' because some of them are literally fashion stables and people have been wearing them for years, relax. like the 'coquette/ballet shoes' have been there for generations 'vintage-style' and even worn in schools so often it holds memories and builds the look, not just a trend. even leopard/jaguar prints are so iconic and eye-catching people have styled and worn them for years even during ancient times, it gives texture and pattern to the fit so definitely not just a 'one time' trend. even Jerseys caaarrryyy streetwear and were so famous all through the 90s n music vids n shows, so its not surprising that they are still well-known right now and give this clash between 'gender based' outfits gives you a 'lively' 'active wear' effortless look and could be a conversation starter if its actually a club / team you support and elevates your style.
Thank you for watching my videos much appreciated it 💗🙏🏽 these were kind of my personal opinions/takes but to each their own. The coquette core and bloquette core are differently micro trends and with that I was referring those trends in my video. I should’ve been little more specific. If you wanna learn more about timeless vs trendy I recommend watching one of my vids which helps to learn more about stabled fashion 😊
I think some background music, like something calming and a bit more editing would be so much better! Though I loved this💕
Yooooo I'm learnin something new abt fashion everyday! This video was definitely informative and helped break down a few of my misconceptions abt gyaru culture. I didn't know it was so diverse and comprehensive!
Damn bro.... she's mad terrifyingly cute... Why is it now that i discovered this channel. I am sooooo sad.
Tysm for the video! It’s so nice to see someone explaining more of the gyaru subculture! I’ve been studying the subculture only for fun for almost two years, and it’s sooo freaking cool! I recommend you to study(only if u want) the gyaru subculture by some old blogs, I do not recommend study by tiktok etc, bc there’s can have some misinformation..ppl normally confuse between gyaru, douyin and cosplay makeup! Are just some recommendations if u want to learn more abt the gyaru! ;3 8:26 And for your question, yes! Gyaru is a subculture that everyone can follow, but also knowing what it means and the history. Normally ppl who don’t are Japanese but are also gyaru are called gaijin gals! “Gaijin” is a Japanese word meaning "foreigner", "non-Japanese", or "outsider". I loveee the video! Tysm!! <33
I’m glad you enjoyed this video and for explaining to me!!! Much appreciated and I did my best to only researched on blog💗
The pronunciation is “gi-ya-ru” the “ru” being more of a roll of the tongue r sound. :)
nice video! you have such a beautiful voice btw 🥺
Aww thank you!!!! Best compliment ever!!! 🥹💗
hi there! gyaru (ギャル) is pronounced like "gee-YAH-roo" (but pronounce "gee" fast!). It is an approximation of the word "gal". Since JP pronounces all vowels consistently, the "ya" approximates the "ae"/"Aghh" sound in "gal" ("G-Agh-L") *tl;dr My opinion is multifaceted and controversial. Gyaru can sometimes be offensive when done wrong and without proper historical + moral contexts* disclaimer: These are opinion cliffnotes, and this comment does not represent the fullness of my opinion. 8:40 as a dark skinned person myself, I do have some controversial thoughts about the style. Some have compared it to blackface, and I agree and disagree at the same time. I also want to keep in mind the seclusion and historical context of Japan (and obviously, the history of slavery and the harm done to darker skinned people for the birth of the United States), so even if blackface (pic on right 7:43 yikes!😧) is not what Japanese Gyaru style intends to do, some Gyaru looks in general could be taken as offensive nonetheless. However, since it is a part of the Japanese culture, they could "get away with it" because it is confined to their culture. Almost no one will take offense to it in their country in the blackface manner, because there are very rare dark skinned Japanese. However, it begins to get complicated when the style spreads outside Japan. As for non-japanese people wearing this style... I feel like this question is very loaded as context very much matters. For certain people, certain looks are okay. However, I would not suggest a lighter skinned foreigner (non-JP) person wear a darker skinned Gyaru style, because it could be taken as a pseudo-blackface. 8:25 Put directly, no matter how much of an weeaboo otaku catgirl my white friend "Sally" is, my heart would be quite bothered at her wearing a dark skin Gyaru aesthetic. I would be confused, disappointed, or weirded out, and want to ask something like "What made you choose the dark skin version of Gyaru fashion?" Personally, the main worry is about the skin color, not the hair. 2:36 Yes, the Gyaru style attempts to embody characteristics and qualities that the Japanese value unconsciously to break social norms (which are set by those in power, typically whoever colonized Japan in historical context), which are also stereotypically found in darker skinned cultures in general, such as confidence, coolness, hood / slang / unafraid of what others think, bluntness, sassyness, community, et cetera. Similar to how they describe us darker skinned people in Japanese as exotic, the Gyaru style is also new and exotic. 2:04 Similar to the pictures in the vid, I have also seen gyaru fashion that is actually blackface, wearing afros and using makeup and tanning spray to darken the skin artificially, wearing americanized clothing and stereotypical fashion marketed as "African American", "Black", and dark skinned. At first I brushed off that type of Gyaru, thinking "Oh no, it's fine because most Japanese do not know dark skin people and our history, since there are typically no dark skin people in Japan", but especially now since our world is more connected with technology such as internet, phone and video calls, I think about Gyaru fashion and begin to have negative mixed feelings about it. I would think my opinion is controversial because people in my generation (gen Z) seem like they don't care about other people's cultures anymore, especially darker skinned people. For example, the "n" word (yknow, "Bigger", but replace B with N). Non-black people say it all the time and don't care. They think it is okay to openly disrespect people, and saying these things are even encouraged. They truly believe the sentiment of "no no, it's all done and forgotten, history is over so don't worry about it anymore. Say as many bad words as you want because everyone who was affected by it is already dead". So most people will probably not care, saying "it's a fashion aesthetic". And obviously there will be people who hide behind Gyaru to wear blackface. It's a very loaded question, I'm sorry I can't write more about it because the comment is getting too long hahahaha.... :(( 8:35 I agree here. Other cultures wearing Gyaru is not appropriation if you do it the right way. But this is my opinion, since I am not a native Japanese. Unless you specialize in either one of "Fashion designer" "cosplay" "Makeup artist", or are a Japanese culture buff / "otaku", it may be weird to see you wearing Gyaru, because why else would you be wearing it if you are not specializing (or at least passionate about it!) in some way or another? I think as long as one is respectful about it and not damaging to the culture or people, or even passionate and willing to learn the culture, that it is instead cultural appreciation! :D As you can tell, my opinions are very multifaceted. I love Japanese culture, language, art and animation, and both traditional & street fashion. I'm working towards my JLPTN3 cert, hopefully obtained by next year. But despite my serious passion I've never been able to shrug off the little icky feeling about the Gyaru fashion aesthetic, especially the skin darkening. Most of it I don't find outright offensive, but it all just feels a little weird to me. If you scrolled this far, thanks for reading my ted-talk. :) edit: timestamps
I dont know for other races, but I know Black Gyarus exist so theres that aswell
Gyarus also take alot of inspiration from black woman's fashion (90's-00's-2010's and so on)
Like if ur Gyaru

Hi, love the video! But I'd like to elaborate on why people are saying the carabiners are for lesbians. In the lesbian community, we use different things about our outfits as "signaling" to each other that we are wlw. Straight people in the fashion community often co-opt these signals and turn them into mainstream trends, thus ruining the signaling aspect. Signaling is important because for people in the lgbt community, it is often a safety risk to ask someone if they are gay or to even go and flirt with them. Hope this helps explain that a little more! :)
Thank you for explaining everything!!! 💗🙌🏽
Let us lesbians have the carabiners 😭
here before you go viral

10/10 video
Thank you ty!!!! 🙏🏽
it was a dark time in 2013 tumblr but the fashion was so fun! This was a very nostalgic and light video, good job 🫧🩷
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it!!!
u shouldve research more; abt the ayesha song. tara wrote the song with her friend and later got ayesha to be in the writing as well.
ooo new location
its bc shes the stereotypical LA high maintenance just living her best life girl and bold polarising personality, yet still has that touch of acceptance so ppl vicariously live thru her/ofc a lot of ppl wanna be like that !
First video i've ever seen of you and I just love your personality! You got a sub from me and im excited to watch your other fashion content!
Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏽💗💗💗
If you guys look closely, Tara kind of looks like she has the face of Fiona the ogre from shrek movie.
No matter how much dudes this Tarayummy has either as a boyfriend or friends, I would love to look like new jeans more than Tara.
No offense, but you look way better than her. The minute I saw her face get plastered onto my page for the first time and then a couple of times, I can’t help but say the sound of her voice doesn’t sound feminine, and her face just look like a gremlin. You ever see new jeans beauty? Her Americanized natural beauty is nothing compared to new jeans beauty. There’s just the look and sound of a tarayummy that reminds me more of a sidechick look more than the IT girl look. Of course there will always be someone that says beauty is subjective, but in my opinion this Tarayummy definitely looks more like a side chick type of girl.
why is an incel here go back to your cave pretty please
@@jay-uu9vjthat comment is from a girl
Been following her since little over a year now and I’m so happy to finally see her get recognition! You can tell that she is real and genuine in this world of make believe. She says things w/o hesitation, she’s not scared to be vulnerable or judged or come off as dumb or stupid which is something very admirable. Yes she is gorgeous but she is kinder than she is pretty🥰
I discovered her account when i was going down the rabbit hole of david alvareezy side of youtube and started following Jake. They seem like a bunch of funny but nice people (my kind of people) no drama, just simple entertainment!
Ukrainian. Mila is Ukrainian. This girl looks no Slavic trait. Idk why this video was in my feed but good job on whoever this is lol
just found you today and I love you and your videos. Keep up the good work🤍🤍🤍
Thank you!!! Will do 💗💗💗🙌🏽
Don't know her much, but you're giving her too much credit (calling her the next It girl), considering she hangs and associates with Zack Justice, which shows her lack of taste and judgement in people. It's gonna age her out of social media, just like people who hanged around David Dobrik didn't last long in the limelight. If she wants to make it in the spotlight or as an influencer she needs to better pick people to associate with, just bc Zack is doing too much and says a lot of out of pocket stuff that might end up getting called out sooner or later
I called her the next it girl cause of Trisha and Tana calling her that 😂. I’m not a fan of Zach either and I’m pretty sure most people only know Zach from Tara. but yet again I’m only wish for the best for Tara. 😊
I agree.. Zach is kinda disgusting and the jokes he makes towards her are gross. Yet she does nothing about it and it's like she actually likes the jokes but idk
Agreed! I have heard she dropped out of the dropouts podcast which I’m so glad about.
You will be bigger than what you are I see the vision. Aslo I’m a squishmellow loverrrr!!!!
Thank you so much!!!! 🥺💗
Hi please put subtitles 🤗
ive known her since 2021 and im so happy shes getting that recognition, shes a brilliant woman and she's influencing us girlies how she should, shes kinda bringing tumblr girls back but in a more dark grunge femme way and im here for it
Couldn’t agree more she’s one of the ppl to inspire me to start doing RUclips 💗
you look so pretty! love the style of ur videos, wish the fastest growth🥰
you’re so sweet!!! Thank you for supporting!!! 💗
her music 😤"they're playing britney fuck it up right now cameras flashing yeah i love that sound" like omg is she resurrecting this era of music??? we need her
Fr
so excited for this
heavy on the last one! I remember I saw someone wearing a brown and pink combo and that looked so cool. I wondered how I had never even thought about that!
Great video! One thing I'd say on the finding inspo point is that it's possible to have sources of inspiration that aren't fashion photography. Taking inspiration from art, graphic design and/or interior design could work for people to find patterns and color combinations that they gravitate towards.
Underrated! new subie ❤
Thank you!!!!!!
Omg! Youre so gorgeous 😭❤️ loving this video
Ur so sweet thank you!!!!🥺💗
Omg I loveee how you described them! Great video!
Glad you liked it!! 💗
you´re so sweet 🌸💗
