Girlfriend Commentary on Outfeed Table Upgrade
Hey Guys! We are back... back again... tell a friend! In this fun and silly edit I complain about my boyfriend's expensive expenditures related to the outfeed table! All sassiness demonstrated in this video is made out of love! He FINALLY put in the miter gauge slots that have caused quite the fury in the comment section (and they say keyboard warriors are weak!)!

    Really nice workbench! just wondering, how much cost like 1 sheet of plywood there?! a full sheet 4x8? here it's a minimum of 100€, without even being sure it's "good quality"... I'm pretty sure for the same price, it would be better to use some "joist" or something that you run throught a planer, and glue it together no? + 20 2x4's it's hella expensive. if you take into account everything, i think even some modular aluminium rails would be about the same price, while being sturdier.

    • @markmarlowe3128
      @markmarlowe3128 Месяц назад

      BTW, it's not a criticism, i am actually looking to build myself some "custom" workbench and pick ideas here and there, i still ask myself wich road should i take. great video by the way, thanks!

    • @WeReno
      @WeReno Месяц назад

      Those sheets of plywood were about 80$ CAD. Those were structural and one side good. Right after this build how ever I found out about cabinet grade Birch plywood. Here it’s only 60$ for a 4x8 x 3/4” and they look amazing. 2x4’s here are cheap, 2-4$ each. Woodworking is definitely not cheap. The tools alone are crazy expensive and you never seem to run out of needing more. You can 100% do it cheaper and easier, it’s really up to you. This build with everything on the table as seen was about 1300$ Canadian. Just the table was about 400$ Canadian.

    • @WeReno
      @WeReno Месяц назад

      Even if there was criticism it’s 100% fine. I like hearing peoples opinions when done respectfully. Let’s put it this way. Make sure you build something that sparks joy or creativity. Something you think looks good. If you are spending hours in a shop you want your area to be something you want to be around. Then try and be as cost effective as possible.

    • @WeReno
      @WeReno Месяц назад

      There really wasn’t that much for aesthetics other than the trim which was just the end pieces of the 2x4’s. I agree that functionality should come first but aesthetics matter too. A nice looking shop is a shop you want to spend time In.
