2 yr review on my work boots... Carolina
These are made in china now
I know its been 5 years since this videos upload but how well are/did they hold up, I plan on getting a pair for my birthday or christmas and dont wanna mess up a $260 decision
How strong is the finger hole hinge? Will it hold up to frequent use or will it break off quickly?
I've been wearing mine for about 3 years now.ive had em catch on fire,I had em run over 3 times with a forklift..my feet are fucked, but the boots held up
Is that Is that a magical tiger?
Dude! I have that same schrade, stays in my hunting bag
I recently purchased a NOS Aker A606-BP handcuff pouch for my Republic Arms hinged handcuffs. Leather was stiff and a real fight to make my handcuffs fit. So after a lot of Dubbin and massaging of leather, my handcuffs now fit like a glove. I suggest anyone who purchases these quick release pouches to keep leather supple with massaging and using Dubbin from time to time.
I saw you get upset and I could say I appreciate that right then so I'm not going to get a small anything exclamation
That is not the "Original" sheath I'm used to seeing in regard to Ol' Grandpappy's 148 or the 137. I collect them actually.
I've had the 28series for 2 years now. I don't wear them except to work outside. Not a 9-5 work boot for me. But I have noticed some bonuses as well as downfalls of this boot. (28series). The bonuses I've found are the interior lining is very comfy. The heel counter also holds up extremely well. The leather is malleable if you keep it treated. I like the comfort. However the cons, it is such a heavy boot. I hate using it in the summer months. And it looks like a work boot. Unlike some moctoes, it doesn't clean up as nicely if you want to wear it out. It is purely a functional work boot.
How are you liking it after 4.5 years? I'm between this and an Access
How's the side hilling ankle support?
This tent is great add a 12×9 tarp on some rope next to it and your camping in style
R they made for hinged cuffs?
Believe they would fit but I dont use hinged so not 100%
Is it waterproof
Fairly water proof. As long as the vents, and door have been zipped shut. Condensation does occur on the inside if there's a large shift in humidity and temperature, but that occurs in many tents.
@@nyherpergear2246 thank you
i have the 20in one that holds 7 and did'nt come with plug huh
Interesting... you have an extended tube? I'm assuming?
Neither did mine.
Hey last year I purchased 1 of their 1-1/2 inch conceal carry belts with carbon fiber and its incredible for my purposes. Now you have me wanting this belt for my range training because I have been gathering gear lately if you know what I mean. Thanks.
Since I've lost weight my EDC belt need to get replaced and ill probably go with another one of theirs. And in regards to stocking up I get it lol. Thanks for the view and comment.
Great review. Always good to hear the experience of someone who actually uses the boots. Thanks for everything. And I want to note that I learned something new about the leather tag that protects the leather below the laces. Didn’t know that and it makes all the sense in the world. Thanks again and good luck!
Cool belt. I want that for my range shooter days. We have a huge range in my town that I try to visit every month. train train train.
Same here training is key for sure. You can have top tier gear but piss poor training and you're not going to have a good day. Thanks for the view and comment!
How’s it holding up?
How much does it cost
I picked mine up for about $50 (us)
Ty4sharing out there!! Nice!!
Tread on these where down quick when your around 275-280
Id say my danners have better tread wear but still haven't had to resole either set yet.
They roll up much easier if you undo the velcro first.
That’s sexy, do have the plans?
I used to own these exact same boots. The plastic welt cracked on both pairs. I decided to upgrade to Nick’s 10” loggers, haven’t regretted it a single day.
Is that leather thick or is it floppy thin
Approx .8" thick
@@nyherpergear2246 Thank you
I noticed that skinny guys dont destroy boots as fast as bigger guys makes sense because im over 200lb and these boots lasted me just over 16months.
Thanks for the great review. With regard to sizing, in pull-on boots I go down 1/2 a size. Are logger boots similar to a pull-on boots or a laced shoe for sizing. Thanks.
For me I went with my sneaker size and they fit well
@@nyherpergear2246 Awesome. Thank you.
I need this in my kitchen. 😃
Is there a leopard picture on the wall...
Its a painting yes
Brilliant
It's a kiltie not kill tie
Nice video. I only have 2 complaints with mine I’ve had them for 3 years. One is that they are heavy and can make your feet sore. Two is that they are really really hot. I use mine for everything from farm work to working in the shop. With the welt my one friend use silicone and just put a little on it where it’d cracked and it sealed it back up.
Now that I have a pair of danner loggers (plain toe) which I wear hiking, for search and rescue, and kind of my every day boot, I will say I prefer those over the carolina. But I still wear the Carolina for doing house work and my wood working. Thanks for the view and input!
Your the first review I have see that discusses the thumb stud issues between 110 and 112 thanks
Even with the thumbstud "issue" I still carry the 110 pretty regularly. It has gotten smoother over time and I enjoy it.
I've got the 8028 model of these. Wore them just about everyday for 5 years until I got a job that required safety toe boots. I just had them resoled and I expect they'll be with me for many more years now that I only wear them occasionally.
Your review delivery is painfully erratic. Sad.
It was an overview first impression. Not a structured review.
Oh.
Oh.
Don't watch..lol..Don't be negative. World has enough cyber bullies. Js
I wear the Carolina Journeyman work boots everyday , no complaints , they've got the composite toe super comfortable . Yeah they'r suade but they stay clean .
I have always used the m-100s. When I was in the Army we were issued the M-100s also with a ton of zip ties as well.
Thank you for the review, very complete and detailed. Your opinion has changed over time? Maybe you can do an update revision. I subscribe to the channel!
Hey there...just about 2 mins into video and wanna tell you I have that gun....I love that gun. German quality at its best. Great trigger, accuracy...nice sleek look. One of if not my favorite gun. Good luck
Can you drop a link of where you got your danners
I'm thinking of buying these to sharpen chisels and knives. How have they done with sharpening your gear?
They are useful for what they are designed for. They are a great field sharpener. Something light and compact to through in your hiking pack. But as a dedicated sharpening system for normal use on knives and particularly chisels I would look elsewhere. Maybe a traditional whetstone. Or the "Worksharp Guided Sharpening system". I use a whetstone "puck" for my axes and chisels. You need to maintain a consistent angle with a chisel, which is hard one handed. I can try and get a video regarding this later in the week if it would be of interest.
@@nyherpergear2246 Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The options and insights have given me something to think about.
7 years, that’s 7 years now I’ve had these. Worn them just about everyday. I can still get another year out of them if I so choose. If I get them resoled God knows when they will expire.
I have one says Cleveland Ohio ?
Junk. I call them 2 month boots.
Brandon Vaughn wtf do you do to them then, I farm a dairy, a non stop job, had my boots for 3 years, just replaced the laces twice that’s all
I'm a Forester planting trees in swamps and walking long ways doing TSI work for the DNR. I am also an arborist climbing trees with Spikes. I also work for a gravel pit and fixing machines and the rock crusher. The longest pair of boots I had were red wings logging boots 2013 till 2018. The only reason why I stopped wearing them is they need to be souled.
Brandon Vaughn man good for you that’s a nice job sounds high paying too red wings are pretty good too along with Chippewa boots as well
@@brandonvaughn8292 I was an auto mechanic and mine (the 1" heel version) stood up to 5 years of daily chemical exposure from coolant, dirty oil and ATF, motorcycle riding, hiking, and kicking around. I still wear them whenever I don't need to look presentable or require safety toes. Sounds like you might have got a defective pair.
@@brandonvaughn8292 Sounds like you should be wearing Steel Toe Muck Boots.
Если не ошибаюсь, то это 100-1. 100 - без заклепок
I've been wearing mine for about three or four years and still holding up, I've even caught them on fire once. They are still in good condition and I keep wearing them. Great company and quality!
Are these particular boots made in USA?
No they are not but fit and finish wise they are amazing. Light weight and very comfy day in day out. I'd buy another pair when these have there last day
@@nyherpergear2246 very cool. I love my Danners too. I have a pair of Quarry's. They are almost 5 years old but they are still going strong.
@@EarlGray_kd7sjt nice! I've heard good on the quarrys too
Yes danner boots are made in Portland Oregon
Got an older one off ebay last week, nice blade style. From Olean, NY.
Awesome! Id be curious of the age of yours, they were made in Olean for a time, then in Japan, and currently Taiwan.
