Build your own lithium battery for your golf cart using 3.2 LifePo4 cells and an Ant BMS
Any update on performance? Better than navitas? Worse?
Did you have to cut Pin #4 or #11 for the FN-KS?
No I did not, mine was a 2016 Precedent
I just got my AC kit for Christmas, and I cannot wait to install it. Any update on this cart? Software setups? Speed, likability, and any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
No everything is working great, I did upgrade the BMS on the lithium battery to a 400 amp constant current with 1000 amp peak. You might have to play with your parameters so you don’t trip your battery. I would also make sure you have 2 AWG cables to your battery and not 4 gauge
@@Oceangolfcarts I have a Bolt 51V Lithium battery so I should be fine. I would just like to see a video with your feedback on the software, ride quality preferences and usability.
Check your max discharge current of the battery and your continuous current. I can definitely do a video like that soon!
@@Oceangolfcarts Awsome. Im most likely starting the install in two weeks!
What is the length of the motor from where it bolts up
10 3/4”
Great looking paint job! The Candy Apple red is sexy/beautiful.
Thanks so much!!
Do you ever put 72v 24s batteries into a cart without removing the body? If so, a video on that would be great.
It’s just the size of the box you build, you could easily get a 24 cell battery in a club car or EZGO. I will be making a 72v video soon and I will go over the install too!
Freaking awesome video could you do a video on 72v
Thank you so so much!! I just go the cells in and I plan on doing a video on a 72v in the next week or two!
This is the solution I arrived at the only a few differences : I added a 5amp active cell balancer and restrict charging to 3.5v per cell instead of 3.6v to avoid stressing the cells - I used the flexible layered bus bars with the little arches - I used neoprene foam strips to secure the pack to allow for some circulation and I mildly compressed the cells with 18 mm plywood pressure plates - it's been running fine for 4 years
So the BMS I use has a 2 amp active balancer on it. I like being able to adjust the parameters on the BMS because of the conditions of the terrain where I am. There are roads so steep you can’t hardly walk up them. Most people are on flat ground. I like your set up and appreciate the feedback! Send some photos if you have any. Thanks again!
That’s what we do with a weed sprayer! And thank you so so much!!
Do you do Navitas set ups as well? If so, which do you like better and why?
Yes we have done Navitas as well and I really like their App feature and Bluetooth connectivity. The Alltrax is rated to go a little faster but both are great kits!
What voltage was the battery that you built? I would be cool to see a speed run with GPS speed being shown.
This was a 16 cell lithium battery so the nominal voltage was 51.2. I can make a video with the speed as well!
@@Oceangolfcartsyes please do!
I would love to see a 76v, 24s, build. Do you build your own battery boxes?
Yeah we make all our own boxes! I can do a video on that as well. Also I am making a 24s battery this month for sure! Thanks so much
You have created a great channel and look forward to more videos. I remember talking with a painter, many years ago, and he told me that it is best to wet all the floor down to keep debris from flying around as much and getting into your paint when you are not using a paint booth.
No these are not Eve cells. I made another video that goes through where I bought everything! Check that one out!
Thank you so much for this. Quick question. Are those Eve battery cells? I thought the max discharge for those were 1C so 105amps?
Sorry I thought I had responded! No they are not Eve cells but come from expertpower.us
Thanks so much bro!!
Bro that paint job is So crisp!! Lookin good ..
🤌🏽
Nice 😮
