    Love my Badgers! What is that portage yoke pad?

    • @Canadiancanoepaddlers
      @Canadiancanoepaddlers 22 дня назад

      Hey, thanks for supporting my channel. The yoke pad is made by level six, only about £14 in the uk and supplied by Marsport canoes. It does what it says on the tin, most I’ve seen are about twice the price. Where are you from? Have a look at the other Badger paddles content , shows the tripper, sliver, and Badgertail. 😊

  • @slmjake
    @slmjake 27 дней назад

    Love the content sir! I am thinking about another canoe purchase here in NE Ohio. A pickup truck is what i want.. load it with dog and guns or a deer or grandkids and fishing poles or a solo paddle in one of thousands of small lakes and ponds and rivers. Was considering Esquif for the rugged T Formex. But a 16-footer could be heavier than 70 pounds according to some folks. Thats alot to pull down from a high truck topper! Stability and durability are what seems to be most important for those cold water activities with greenhorns and a big old lab😊

      Thanks Andrew, the wildfire is a very nimble solo, can be a bit twitchy if you don’t concentrate. The prospector is like the pick up truck - does many things well, stability and Payload are excellent. Just over an inch of Rocker so great for slower rivers as doesn’t catch the wind as some Other boats by the same name. Welcome to try them if ever your in Essex

    • @andrewwhitby9154
      @andrewwhitby9154 Месяц назад

      @@Canadiancanoepaddlers Thanks Martin. I'd love to have a paddle in both but Essex is a long old drive away from Cheshire! You never know though .. if I get close to pulling the trigger it may still be worth it. Re "twitchy" , I think I prefer the easy life and some initial stability. I loved my first canoe - a Mad River Explorer with shallow V but it weighed an absolute ton. My current vessel is a Novacraft Cronje which is quite nimble and easily driven on flat water. At 17.5' can be a bit of a handful solo though, and now I've converted to a sailing capable canoe I can no longer lift it onto my roof rack alone (I've adapted some van rollers to help but still not as easy as a lightweight lift by hand) Maybe a Prospector is the answer for a solo only addition. Or even a Keewaydin ..

I seldom paddle my solo with a kayak paddle as I’m trying to improve my paddling with a regular canoe paddle however I do have a 260cm double blade which I’ll take if I know it’s a little windy or days when the river is particularly fast, it’s also good exercise as the double blade uses different muscles. Very nice Sir. Do you find the 15' spacious enough with two adults, and is there still enough leg space for the forward paddle on this? I think I have seen that Swift could do a combi 15' prospector with a removable center seat, and that seat itself can have a twin height seating 'pod' to allow a lower pack style seating stance if so wished in solo mode.

      @@Canadiancanoepaddlers It's good that you have a channel specific to Canadian canoes, thankyou. I take it your son is an adult - (for spatial sizing comparison) ? You seem to have easy access to several of these Swift canoes, maybe you are part of the Norfolk Canoes team. Have you noticed that whereas the price of a Swift Canoe may be say $3595 US dollars over there, but then here in UK it is priced at exactly the same numerical figure yet at £3595 Sterling. The conversion rate between US dollars to UK pounds is 0.79, so $3595 USD should equate to £2840, huge difference (£760 odd). Better still, the Canadian Swift home source price of $3995 at 0.57 exchange should equate to £2277 pounds sterling, for the very same canoe. I could certainly better envisage getting myself both a tandem Prospector and a solo pack boat at those latter conversion rates. Keep it up with the splendid videos Sir. Kind regards.

I will always support Norfolk canoes as they’re really helpful and a uk business.
