I had the privilege to visit Silver Bay when I was a young teenager. Our church didn't have a formal church camp for the youth so a few priests in the Diocese of Albany developed a program and Silver Bay was where this took place. It was such a wonderful time for me, as in the mid-1950s I/many of us, never had the travel opportunities which kids have today. So, a week at Silver Bay was like the end of the world for me. I loved the entire experience - the beautiful lodging, the singing hymns down at the point in the evenings, compline service in the auditorium, services in the beautiful chapel, canoeing on the lake, swimming, the wonderful meals in the hotel dinning room, it was a most memorable time of my life - the huge auditorium where we met for compline each night and at the end of the week we had a talent show with many very talented campers performed. As our church annual convention will be held at Silver Bay this year the first weekend in June, I mourn the fact that I am not able to attend - for several personal reasons - I would love to revisit a place that gave me so much joy in my young years - Bless you for your continued work and for hosting the Episcopal Diocese of Albany's Annual Convention this year!!

Thank you so much for making these videos! SBA is one of my favorite places to vacation, a second home, then when older was even an EMP (employee) for a a couple years too. I’ll never forget those incredible days teaching sailing, and sitting on the rocking chairs looking out onto the lake all day! ...or all the lifelong friendships and bonds I’ve made with incredible people! This place helped me to become the person I am today! I wouldn’t trade my experiences at Silver Bay for anything in the world!
