After watching multitudes of these camping videos all summer I have determined that should I ever go camping again I will not go without pepper spray, various firearms, knives and I would definitely never go alone! 😨And I grew up in Michigan. Crazy.

You found it weird that there was a camp site with no car and no people? Maybe they got dropped off or hiked to where they are camping. You don't know how many there were so you don't know if they could carry their gear. You set up your camp and went for a hike. Maybe they did the same. And not everyone barges around making noise for all to hear all day and night. Sound at night travels far in the forest. Just saying, no hate.

When camping/hiking always take a weapon to defend yourself against all types of predators. Any gun type is good at least an 8" blade survivor knife. I carry a modified 5-foot walking staff that I snap my knife on to have a ready spare. I also carry some M80 firecrackers(to scare off unwanted intruders) and mace (for bears). It is a good idea to have a motion sensor LED garden light and a loud horn too even a 900-mile laser pointer can be used defensively blinding the eyes of monsters and signaling. Hey instead of saying "I got a knife in here" say "I GOT A GUN IN HERE" Even if you don't have one just bluff like playing poker.

This is just my personal opinion. The world we live in is violent and destructive. Human beings have proven this since the begining our kind. Predators have a lust for causing harm to people, they do there homework to get familiar with the people they want to harm and then they strike when they have the upper hand, like cowards. If anyone is to go hiking or camping, do not post on social media were your going. Predators enjoy these types of areas because its secluded, if they know theres no help for miles and your in the middle of nowere, your in their playground. With that in mind, ALWAYS keep a firearm on you when you camp in secluded areas, predators dont care, they hunt there prey. Be safe and prepared, and ALWAYS arm yourself.

Never go camping/hiking without a weapon of some kind ist choice is a handgun 38sp+p, at minimum a survivor knife with a 6" blade you can attach to a 4-5 foot med branch and you have a spare to ward off evil critters, some loud firecrackers light one up and after the bang things are quiet, a cheap 900-mile laser pointer pen can be used for emergency signaling as well as blind the eyes of Big Foot, first aid kit and a whistle.

If I thought someone were outside f'ing around I would step outsdide (with some sort of weapon, of course) but keep my flashlight handy but leave it off. You can't see them, but they can't see you either...especially if you slip a few feet into the dark. Then sit and wait for them to act up again...unless it's bear territory...lol

I discovered that setting up live feed trail cameras around the camp is useful. Able to check things out from my phone without leaving the tent works for me.

Well you were in peak dog man country where you were at but there are cougars running around them parts too I know this for sure because I came face to face with one about an hour away from where you were camping

I think I've seen one or two of your other videos. Sorry but I don't buy it. I couldn't tell which were your steps and which were the others we were supposed to be hearing. I did hear the bird call in the distance. Some branches breaking I guess. As is typical with these "scare" videos the sound is poor and of course we never see anything. Earlier in life I did a lot of camping including back pack trips into deep woods. Never once encountered anything other than forest critters. Bears, deer etc. There are noises in the woods at night from various creatures. There is no big foot. Somewhere someplace there may be a large man that decided to live off the land and hasn't shaved for 10 years. Conveniently someone called him a sasquatch because sasquatch stories and lore make money for folks. This video features very little and I believe is totally staged.

Carry a small 38 with you if you camp alot..it will protect you and you will have a good nights sleep..keep it in a shoulder holster or in your hoddie front pocket

When I was in iraq and we were in a hot area with bad guys all over the place at night we would Rapp fishing line when we would sleep with cans attached to them just in case the Marine on look out fell asleep...(plus we had claymore mines around)you can really use any type of rope just as long as it is really thin..believe me once someone trips that line you will hear it...just becareful out there...there are bad people....one more thing...line the rope up right when u get there so nobody knows it's there...put it up 8ins

Give props to us Canadians. We kinda have to camp with no weapons since handguns are basically banned here. Out of all my co-workers.. only one owns a gun (illegally I might add).

Those who were killed was probably by someone they knew.. it's beautiful and safe but you need to know the area or go to state parks they have rangers who protect the forest 😉

Although many people do two tracking or four wheeling until dawn. But above is right you probably are hearing noise from far away

I'm from Northern Michigan and there's bears, deer, fox and many different animals not to mention that people own property and have cabins deep in the woods. You all are safe as long as you know your not on someone's property then they would usually just talk to ya.

I learned recently that there are wanted/criminals hiding in the forests as well along with multiple cryptids, and for these criminals, your belongings are more important than your life. You really have to be extremely dumb to go hiking after knowing all these things. I mean, dumb of the highest caliber.

If there are 3 with one dog or 4 of us and armed or machete I would not be scared

You need one of those infrared cameras to see your surroundings instead of flashing your flashlight that shows anyone there where you are.

Always carry a firearm, a large caliber handgun, or better yet, a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buck or sabot hollowpoint slugs. Better to have rails for your handgun and shotgun to mount a weapon light. Carry extra ammo. Carry extra handgun for your partner. Carry 2 or 3 LED flashlights rated for 5,000-6,000 lumens. Carry a large field knife and a tomahawk.
