I had the pleasure of spending the day with Joe Thompson at his home playing fiddles and hearing stories. As we talked about fiddle music and African-American history with that music, Joe said it made him sad that there didn't seem to be any young black musicians who cared about this music. The very next year he met THESE two. The rest is Joe Thompson history. Loved spending the day with him!

Very interesting! i love the build-up of the natural images and the music that went with it, to the stark contrast of the city shots. the stop-motion esque effect is very intriquing and paired well with the music. i enjoyed this alot, well done!

Interesting arthouse. To summarize, the emotions evoked by this video were melancholy, loneliness, the beauty of nature, the soullessness of the city. Musical ending remind me the song called Prophecies by Philip Glass.

Awesome. Loved this.

Don't know how I felt about this. The first shots were intriguing, but when we got to the cat/city/dead rat cuts, I think I got lost. To have what looked like photos I would take with my friends goofing off in the streets/a dead rat interspersed between beautifully composed shots really just took me out of it. Overall I liked it.

Background sounds make it more realistic. Not being a New Yorker I thought that there would be horn blowing etc. Like seeing more of the city city and sounds. The boy doesn't know about movement. Maybe he is throwing the ball to try to forget something or someone. That is his way of his way to pray? P 😢
