A wee while since this was posted now, but, its still worth a mention. Try to warm your engine before dropping the oil, and remove the filler cap to allow better draining. Your air filter was fine for another 6k miles IMO (ie til next service), a performance air filter wont really make a lot of difference unless you change your exhaust (a TOR is a good choice), ditch the cat and SAI system, and start messing with different fuel maps. The oil on the coil pack and plug is probably due to the cam ladder seal (easily replaced). Go for iridium plugs as they dont need changing for 30k+ miles. Looks like someone has done a rewire on your reg/rec as the yellow cables look new and fatter. Get some thicker battery cables (known as Pudding cables on FB group) which will help the engine spin up quicker for better starting and save your sprag clutch. Hope this helps ....

for some reason its not letting me reply, but Lowland motorcycle training is the name of their facebook page. im not sure where its based but it seems like it will be in the town. they say CBT to advanced rider training so all i can do is hope they do start a2 at least by the time i come to do my A2

wheres best to do my A2 near dumfries? i done my CBT in ayr and don't fancy going back and forth for a four day course on my 125 if i can avoid it 😂

id recommend only using E5 in motorbikes as E10 can eat away at fuel lines faster and gunk up injectors quicker etc. Plus more fuel efficient (from what I've heard).

I noticed my speedometer reading 6mph faster than it should be ,I put a GPS speedometer in line at same time,I thought it didn't seem like the speed I it was saying,have you found that out o yours.?

One thing to ride another to own. I got an 06 in 2010, 5,000 miles third owner. New battery, other guy got stranded. I rode about a week and it needed a jump. Replaced Rectifier and Batt. No problem since, rectiffier better design. At 7,000 the sprag failed. Also an idler gear near the starter. Got gear from salvage cheap, new bigger sprag available in 2013. Rode 13000 mi.. Thought sprag went again. It was ok but same gear broke, none easily found in salvage, not available. 2023. Called dealer as no parts available listed when searching online sites. Got what Dealer described as a Kit. New side covers, larger sprag, all to fit with different larger gears and starter. A lot bigger. Well worth it. If you own that bike try to get one for it. The older gears are not available, neither is that first gen replacement sprag.The idler gears became the issue, the second sprag was ok. The "Kit" looks like it came off a small car and by the size I expect will last forever. Other than that, the bike has not been abused and runs better than new. If you'rs hasn't got the Kit, try to order one and be certain the Battery is fully charged so starts are smooth. It's a good engine. Deceptively fast. Careful on wet roads. One of the first things I did was to put a larger M/Cyl on the front brake, common discussion on forums. Some say it makes it feel wooden. Well, it has ABS and feels fine to me. The stock one was almost touching the grip. It worked. Though I like more travel and am not so sensitive to percieved feel others speak of. Got it from salvage, a Triumph part. The longer I own the bike the more I like it. I changed the bars and windscreen to higher ones too as I was tempted to go too fast lying down all the time.

On my Sprint ST 1050 06 changed both alternator and RR (RR mosfet) but have not yet had time to test, winter came. The wiring from the alternator to the RR was touching the slider and the heat melted the slider. The first time I bought an alternator from Daytona 955, it turned out to be 6 mm smaller in outside diameter. I had to buy it again, the second time they sent the correct one.

Nice video, i think once you end up so far you should just replace all the rubbers at that stage.. and about locktite; above 70 degrees Celsius locktite is not binding anymore.. and would the cover not get hotter then that?

Hi, the same engine is in a LEONCINO 125 and I use filters from HeloFiltro or something like that. I don't remember the strainer on the oil drain cover....I'll check in a few thousand km. Because it's on the cotinent and not on the Island ;-)

Very pleasant sound. For parades, meetings without a dB killer. For everyday use with dB killer so as not to tire too quickly. I'm waiting for a version for the Leoncino 125 - it's the same engine.

Mine was wet on 1 plug with oil I found it needed a new rocker cover gasket . Its a rubber gasket and there are 2 possibilities make sire you get the right one
