I was at the scene on the information night. I was very impressed about Marty's embarrassment that he he was totally pissed of because he's not even able to answer the unionville neighborhood any questions or concerns. Marty exclaimed the presbyterian church is always taking unionville residents into priority but insisted to ignore any objection voice. Obviously at information night, objection voice outbreaks stayed very strong but he still chose to ignore them. His attitude is just like "I've heard you, but I don't care." This is NOT Canada's diversity value.
Strongly support the idea of building more affordable house for seniors! Build them where easy access to medical facilities, shopping and public transit please! Behind the church in the middle of nowhere won’t make it HOME for seniors!
At least we are direct and sincere. Marty and Reid showed us how hypocritical they can be. All people in the room are local and many seniors too. We all should be included if they are talking about an INCLUSIVE community. Have they heard/care what seniors said on the scene? I doubt any people are eager waiting for redeveloping a parking lot into housing unit. The people in need would prefer more and faster available units. If city plan well they can build more units in any available place instead of wasting money on switching parking lot. Have anyone calculated how much money waste by just switching parking lot to underground parking?

If most local residents against this idea, it clearly says this is NOT a good idea. This is OUR neighborhood, we have the right to SAY SOMETHING!

I am proud of 大山. A Canadian who can speak Mandarin fluently.
Not just fluently, it's more than that! Some foreigners speak fluent chinese but you can kind of still tell they're foreigners, Mark on the other hand has completely mastered the language usage, the fluency, the accent, the style etc... to the point even some Chinese people couldn't quite get to, he's really on another level.
而且北京腔不能代表就是标准，多学学各地的方言啊

口音肯定是有一点点，中国人绝大多数也有口音，大山讲中文绝对地道，主要是语言的方式和表达出来的文化

我去，中文好到这个程度。。。
中國加拿大兩地跑了快三十年，年輕時候還當過第一個拜師學相聲的白人，中文要是沒這種程度才有鬼呢。。。
好像是马季的徒弟，正规的传统相声演员，说相声报菜名什么的，基本功一般人肯定比不上。
能把中文说的这么完美的外国人可能就是他了
还有mike隋，中美混血儿，非常标准，还会标准的北京话
比他中文好的老外有的是，你少见多怪了
混血是家里有条件的 如果半路出家 真的没几个
还有南斯拉夫的卡尔罗，美国的莫大伟，上面提到的麦克隋。 都是有语言天赋的主~
汉语说得好不仅是口音，我的感觉是其他人说的没有大山的感觉
