My two favorite authors. If you want to understand how the world works read these two
These guys are genius. I have read their 4 book (2 each), completely changed my perspective. 1 Fooled by Randomness 2 Black Swan 3 Thinking fast and slow 4 Noise A flaw in human judgement
Garcia Steven Hernandez Kenneth Harris Karen
Best interview ever
Indira tu jaake pepsi bech
Leaving a comment so it will help the algorithm. Great video.
Who is coming after reading Antifragile?
This was as easy as a walk in the park for Taleb. Kahneman is clearly out of his depth.
Rest in peace Prof danny kahneman
Is there anyone who would like to talk with me about these topics?. I have read Thinking Fast and Slow and Black Swan. And I am reading Antifragile now. I will be reading Noise after that. I would like to talk and exchange ideas with someone who has similar interest
Indra did not herself be bullied, Niel on the other hand showed became insecure as soon as Nassim pointed out who he works for, and throughout the interview tried to bully who he thought was the weakest with unnecessary cheap shots.

I´m an alcoholic (4 years sober). I have just realized that my cronic disease is that I have a innate tendency towards acting as if I were antifragile, when it is robustness that cures my fragility.

Do we really need a philosopher to tell us it’s not a good idea to be turkey before thanksgiving?! 😅😅
These are the content for which I pay my internet bills.
The piaf march intro almost killed me :-))) Vive la France!
Thanks to Brother Taleb for teaching us the value of Ekadashi!
You need a Keith AND a Mick. You need an Iggy Pop AND a Berlin-era Bowie. You need a Lennon AND a McCartney. You need a Morrissey AND a Marr.
Namasta, Maybe can explain correlation of Google and ISIS support and everyone who is guilty by association of Google...
I love the part when someone from the audience asks "why are we so bad in calculating probabilities?" and Kahneman answers - in an elaborate way - "because we are bad at math". A question I would like to suggest: "Why do impostors get the <Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel> and Nassim Taleb does not?"

Limit the losses, dont limit the gains.

Fast forward 10 years; results of easy monetary policy, inflation is the words common people utter everyday today. After so much quantitative easing we dropped our pants on the floor. Quantitative belt tightening and bitter medicine is what the doctor ordered. Those who claim they need free money flow at low interest rates in order to pay for what they need can liquidate their crypto-bitcoin investments to finance their needs :-)
Compare price of bitcoin before stimulus checks went out to after stimulus. Over a decade ago Bitcoin was created in response to TINA (and embraced by those nations who want to circumvent sanctions) as interest rates got lower and lower. If you keep debasing the US dollar to stimulate for short term gains (4 more years), and use it excessively as a weapon (as in sanctions) you get dethroned.
Loved the ending! Thanks Nassim. You are a gift.
Ainda bem que lê uffa
great final answer
Oh boy what giants
Variability is Good. NNTaleb: So I Assume, Extreme Variability is Very Very Good. I sold my house and went and bought one in one of the most crime infested areas. ..... and stay 6 months in Sahara without fans and AC and 6 months in Arctic without heating or woollens. .... and hang myself by the neck to see if I will survive (a very small percentage do). ..... I crash my car at 100 miles per hour to see if I will survive. Anti-Fragility!
Taleb says that a system that allows small losses makes the system more robust and safer for all of us from larger shocks. Yet Kahneman says small losses are intrepreted as the most painful by humans. Just a marvelous discussion. And as a side note I'm glad Dr. Kahneman pointed out that Taleb goes overboard when attacking others he disagrees with.
Perhaps. His bombastic attitude, however does make for a more interesting read. Moreover, NNT is going after people who concoct ritual bs paper citation rings, transfer risks onto others, and/or blow up the economy through their system fragalizing interventions--perhaps some heckling is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Penalties for skin in the game...that makes sense!
😍
40:49:00 what was the problem with the food in Russia in 1970s?
No competition (as all restaurants used to be State restaurants), therefore awful food, according to Taleb. (I don't know whether it's true, though.)
I believe in survival of the fattest.
Niall intellectually dominates the conversation Niall not Nassim.
I agree with Naseem here, he knows the details at a deeper level than kahneman was trying to comprehend here. No disrespect to Kahneman, he is a legend in his field though.
Now I am proud that I never touched a Pepsi.
I loved the "too big to fail" -prevention heuristics 👏👍
Agora é tarde kkkkkkkk não tem palavra não tem honra tudo que vocês estão fora o Pinóquio e o pastor como diz o deco segura o elsons kkkkkkkkk
🥴
🥴
A lot of the discussion was NNT saying how it should be and isn't at the moment and Kahneman emphasizing why it isn't
Meu libanês amado meu judeu que amo com todas as forças do planetas
books that define and describe illnesses within a vast system called " The economy" shouldn't be prescribed as medications to these illnesses..we just expect too much from the two authors here.
