imagine, a 11 years old boy who Watch on tv for the first time in his live Kiss playing this song. That was me, in 1981, when i watch on tv "Sanremo festival" in Italy and they was a guest in broadcast live from Studio 54 in New York for receive the Golden Cat Award. Ace was not there because car accident. I didnt know Kiss and their music , i was young child who listen pop music and italian hits. This 5 minutes was for me like a lightning in my brain, from the next day i was possessed by Kiss fever and i ask my grandpa to make me a gift, we was in the next music shop and i find the only kiss album on tape, that was Kiss Killer, with the most awesome songs from them like I'm legend tonight, Nowhere to run, Partners in crime and the most underrated song Down on your knees. Later a friend from my father gave me the album Dynasty and i destroyed this vinyl for so much listen 🤣 The only two concert in my whole life was with Kiss, one in Zurich ( Swiss) and the last in Milano ( Italy). In Zurich i could take a guitar pick from Paul, that was like the greatest gift in my life. Sorry for my english 😅

I remember hearing dynasty in OBi it was a nightclub Long Island. But the version I heard was a disco version .

I was remembering this song as a laugh! But it turns out this song is really not that bad. It’s very dramatic and the lyrics paint the picture very well. The chorus is “hooky” with the follow up backing vocals. I like the the half-time of the verses and climax to the chorus’s in double. Not a fan but a childhood reflection from 1979.

But he never met this woman,Gene would ve wanted to met her but she refused to do it she didn't like Kiss, the truth is the lyrics is pretty cool and it's one of my favorite Kiss 'song to be fair, but i understand a few years later she listened to another version of this song.

The lyrics aren't quite accurate but they're not exactly hard to understand in the first place. I love Dynasty and Unmasked. They do pop-rock exceptionally well!

I’ve seen alternative lyrics and listening to Naked City innumerable times, I believe Gene is singing “is there no tomorrow“, rather than “is there more tomorrow“. Honestly, I would like it better if he was, presumably sarcastically, singing a question of “is there more tomorrow?“ (implying he’s enjoying himself in the macabre scene that he’s painted himself into) But to me, he’s clearly singing “no”, not “more”. Anyone have proof of an interview where he clarifies the lyric or someone else with writing credit or personal witness does?
