It would appear that you are new to fishing, black beam, Jewfish. At least you did know a fingermark.Great spot for cod eh, prefer to fish the Cape Qld WA has too many rules for a place where not many people live! Fished there years ago and wont be back.

Best fishing in Point Samson area is no 1 lead marker out from Port Walcott,trout,triple tail,fingermark and mackerel on floating balloon, and get there in like 4 meter tinnie.

I spent 15 years in pilbara area,karratha,porthedland one thing now miss is fishing and crabbing,my favorite spot was balla balla snd Whip ck pub when still open.

Another good idea with the live baits is to only hook through the top part of the mouth/nose, the fish needs to have its mouth open to last alot longer

I remember one year Adventure Sports apparently sold 5000 fly nets, had to use them as a filter to drink a beer

We literally just returned from our Cape York/Pajinka holiday. We did the Roadhouses as well and stayed at Bamaga, Coen and Laura on our way up and back. One of the best experiences I've ever had.

Good onya mate for throwing the jennie back it’s the territory way even though it’s nice to keep them we have a rule amongst MOST of us locals to always throw female crabs back and iv watched numerous videos of people up here keeping them and your the only bloke I’ve seen do the right thing 👍 it was the only crab you got after all that hard work and you still threw it back tells me a lot about the type of bloke you are 👍
