March 14th, 2024 Tornado Outbreak - Indian Lake EF3 - Extended Cut
Просмотров 153Месяц назад
On March 14, 2024 surprise tornado outbreak struck Indiana and Ohio while eyes were trained on Oklahoma and Arkansas. The storm prediction center did note the possibility for storms in Hoosier alley. However, a squall line passed through in the morning which led some chasers to believe a tornado threat would not materialize. The atmosphere quickly recovered anyways, and I blasted west to interc...

I captured this time lapse on a #sonyalpha A7riii in NE Ohio. The cemetery scenes show the initial wave around 10pm. The following scenes were filmed at my apartment around 2am.

TORNADO OUTBREAK - Wapakoneta, OH - March 14th, 2024

A surprise tornado outbreak impacted western Ohio with multiple injuries and deaths being reported. This is by far the most intense chase I have ever had and it’s wild that it was on my home turf. I first made contact with this supercell in Marion, IN and followed it all the way to Newark, OH - about 170mi the way the crow flies.
Big Time Go Time Vlog #5 (2/27/24 Mendota, IL Supercell & Funnels)
Просмотров 6510 месяцев назад
On February 27th, 2024, Kyle and I drove out to Illinois for a rare winter season tornado chase. I don’t typically enjoy chasing that time of year, however this was a unique setup in that a dryline was present in Illinois during a winter month. We ended up chasing a gnarly supercell from Mendota to Chicago before letting the storm get away. Only until then did it finally produce a photogenic to...

Twitter - JonnyGlessner Instagram - jonny_glessner On May 24th, I was almost 2 weeks into my chasecation and was starting to get the itch to find a tornado. On this day, storms were going to be large and HP which makes tornado hunting even more difficult. My aggressiveness didn't pay off because a large wedge tornado wrapped in rain formed only a mile behind me as I w...
Storms of The Great Plains - 2023 Time Lapse
Просмотров 230Год назад
Twitter - JonnyGlessner Instagram - jonny_glessner 2023 ended up being one of the best years for storm chasing in recent memory. The typical peak season is mid to late May. This videos features thunderstorms and supercells across five states from May 16 through May 28. In retrospect this was the worst possible time to chase the Great Plains - not because there weren’t...
Giant HP Supercell - Burlington, KS August 13th, 2023
Просмотров 805Год назад
While on an unrelated business trip, I took my rental car from Tulsa, OK and drove up to SE KS. Models were showing a couple hours of discrete supercells and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. At first, the day looked like it about to cap bust but an established storm in the Flint Hills of Kansas stayed healthy and moved into a great environment. It went tornado warned but quickly transitioned...

I have the same video of that storm on my account! It was crazy how much lightning and how all those other cells merged into one powerful storm! Great Video. The title on my channel for the video is "Lightning show and tornado warning."
Now this is epic!
Absolutely beautiful footage, man, and I love the addition of the original music!
DUDE that is absolutely incredible!
Gorgeous storm
What a beast...
This was the last chase of the season for our team. We had busted two weeks in a row, even getting caught in the Dakota Haboob, but this made up for the entire season. I doubt I'll ever such a perfect LP cell again.
I believe I was parked right behind you
Hello from Spencerville Ohio!! Great video! I only got as much as cloud to cloud lightning footage during that day, I wish I could of gotten more.
Gnarly footage dawg, what an incredible show of nature's force
Great footage!
Amazing Footage
That's some incredible footage, Jonny! Now that's a downright scary-looking storm, holy crap.
We just got some golf ball size jail here in Oklahoma be safe everyone is only the start of tornado season
Hope you're safe
That’s a huge tornado
Nice work yesterday Jonny!
The biggest of going time
In times like these, you go big
These shots are insane! Congratulations on such a crazy chase Johnny.
Some pretty awesome storm structure that evening! I'm glad it was a successful late-winter chase!
Beautiful. I found you through Chaser Chat, honestly wondering how this doesn't have more views, top notch stuff Jonny.
Awesome summary of a great chase day! Now I'm bummed we were so lazy and hung back in Clovis for the evening rather than staying out in front of that structure.
There will be more home state motherships for you brother! 🤘🏼
great video.
I was unfortunate enough to be caught out in that storm on my motorcycle that day
Fantastic song choice! 🙌 gave great momentum to the footage!
Spectacular. Congratulations. 8000 miles!
Nice job man
Great footage of your awesome Plains experiences this year! Hope for even better in 2024!
I am as jealous of your timelapses as I am the fact that you are all caught up for 2023! 😅😅
Wow Amazing
ᏩᏙ wado for the post!!!
Spectacular footage! That was a gorgeous and HUGE supercell, although I suppose the lightning was trying to get more attention with that insanely close call at 00:02:48
Frequency Controlled Chemtrail Clouds. Very good to see.
Beautiful storm, did that Farwell supercell produce?
I'm not sure but it definitely looked like it wanted to!
Nice!

BIG TIME GO TIME Loved the vlog, certainly shows that it was an exciting day! And glad to see everyone out there on it!
Ok
So at 3:24 I firmly believe those were just gustnadoes as the storm was totally outflow dominant at that point. As for 8:25, I do believe there was a confirmed tornado a little bit before. Right at the beginning of that clip with the funnel and dust swirl on the ground. I figured something tried to spin up during the occlusion though too. Officially my tornado count on the day is just 1 but I have pretty stringent criteria lol
Sedgwick, CO had a confirmed tornado that looked almost EXACTLY like the structure you were viewing at 3:24. The rain-wrapped tornadoes were pretty much impossible to see unless you got right up to the meso, the best footage I saw of any from that day cost the guy his windshield!
3:24 looks like weak multi-vortex structure, both splits of this cell produced several pretty large rain-wrapped tornadoes. A NWS employee reported a tornado, law enforcement reported a few, and it looks like you caught something briefly forming in the occlusion at around 8:25. I'm working on an analysis of this storm and was hoping I'd be able to use some of your footage, I'd watermark it with your name and most likely slightly enhance contrast and color.
