Buiten enkel M7 of TGV

Dag Patrick, uiteraard kunnen niet alle treinen 200 km/h, maar deze lijn (36N) is wel uitgerust voor deze snelheid. Dus de M7 en TGV inderdaad wel, maar ook de ICE en HLE 18 mogen 200 km/h op deze lijn. De treinen van en naar Oostende en Eupen en Kortrijk en Welkenraedt zijn ook uitgerust met rijtuigen van 200 km/h.

Hi, I obviously don't know exactly how fast this train is going, but trains are allowed to drive 200 km/h on this line. The locomotive and coaches are also built to reach speeds of up to 200 km/h.

The large depots and sidings are pretty well secured at night, but there are plenty of smaller depots and sidings across the country that are much easier to access. Also good hearing from you, the station announcements are indeed in Flemish, and fun fact: the Brussels capital region alone has 35 stations in total 😅

Zunächst einmal, Ingo, danke für deinen Kommentar; sehr geschätzt 🙂. Zweitens, diese Geschwindigkeitsreduzierungen sind weiterhin anwendbar und werden leider frühestens bis 2026 behoben sein.

@@TrainTramMetroChannel Vielen Dank für Deine Antwort. Habe auch noch mal darüber recherchiert, bis Ende 2025 gilt noch diese Beschränkung. Wenn man bedenkt, das die Strecke erst 2009 eröffnet worden ist, ist das schon sehr beschämend, das nach Milliarden € Baukosten wahrscheinlich mehrere 100 Millionen für die Reparatur anstehen. Da hat wohl jemand von der Bauaufsicht gepennt und man sollte sich die Kosten von der Baufirma zurückholen.....

Ah ok, Ende 2025, aber ich wäre nicht überrascht, wenn es bis 2026 dauert . Irgendetwas ist bei der Konstruktion dieser Linie tatsächlich schiefgelaufen. Eisenbahnen sind nicht dafür gemacht, nur 20 Jahre zu halten.

I mainly use geOps, which is a train tracking website that bases train locations on time schedules. The downside is that when a train is running late, the location is not correct, so I use the SNCB app to look if trains are running on time. Unfortunately, I haven't found a better alternative for tracking train locations in Belgium.

@@AustraliaWorldwide what are you on about? I never said that there are places where graffiti doesn't exist, but i never saw this many. In my city maybe one in 50 passenger trains has graffiti on it.

It's indeed not an Apple product ;), I use the Samsung S23 Ultra, which has a wide-angle, 1x, 3x, and 10x optical zoom lens.

In en rond stations lopen vaak wel wat bedelaars rond inderdaad, maar toen eigenlijk geen last van gehad.

The SNCB app still uses the old red color the M5 coaches used to have. In 2009, they were modernized with new interiors and the current SNCB colors.

These trains all use the same safety/signaling system called ETCS.

For the safety system (ETCS), all trains are just seen as trains. Trains are scheduled so that there are no problems for the services that these trains run.

Technically it's not really called a Highspeed train, but an InterCity train that uses the Highspeed line. It will improve with the upcoming ICNG tho 😄

@@TrainTramMetroChannel Not to belabor the point, but between Rotterdam and Schiphol you pay a 'highspeed' surcharge, so this IS a highspeed train, even though it has to cut back speed 4 times on that section because of poorly built viaducts........

You're right, I forgot about the extra surcharge and problems with the highspeed line. That's not great when you look at it like that.

@@ilex471 Surcharge is not for highspeed travel but for the usage of highspeed tracks making it direct and unimpeded. But the growing slow orders on the track issue is valid.

@@TrainTramMetroChannel oh okay, is it a tracking train kinda thing? Would be nice if there was a flight radar but for trains, makes things much easier. But interesting to see you found info on trains!

Yeah it's a train tracker but unfortunately not as accurate and extensive as flight radar is for planes. Some countries do have train trackers integrated in their national railway app or website but unfortunately not in Belgium. In the end we indeed just need a flight radar but for trains 😄
