Hello! Thank you for such good advice. We are in desperate need of urgent service and we will try some of these tricks. Unfortunately, we didn't know this at the time of the wedding, so we didn't include a letter to our officiant, but she did use express post to send the license, so we will at least try. We are slightly confused by the order of the steps you mention regarding the certificate though. You say to request the marriage certificate online after 1-2 weeks as the first step to expedite the certificate... but how can we do this without even knowing if the marriage has been registered? As stated in theterms of service Ontario: "The marriage or death must be registered by the ORG and in electronic format at the time the application is received. It takes approximately 10 weeks from the date the marriage took place to register a marriage and 12 weeks from the date of death to register a death. Your request for a certificate will be processed after the registration is complete. You are not eligible for a Service Guarantee if the marriage or death is not registered when you apply for the certificate." Therefore, shouldn't we call them first to know if it registered? You state that this should be step 3 (when it should be step 2 in our opinion). However, if you still believe we should apply online FIRST, we will of course differ to you expert opinion.
