I'm mad late to answer and I apologize but yes, some do. This is true. I've battled with it myself. And I'm not from the south. I lived in the south a good 1.5-2 years. I'm from Chicago. As an adult, I like the duality of my identity. I identify both as a black woman and Haitian woman.
Love it, great content I grew up in FT Lauderdale, FL I fought every day we earned our respect! I'd claimed Haitian from day one!
