@@ReinisFischer thanks a lot for replying back , I've been following you for a while now and I've also been practicing options selling in crypto , the same 1 DTE strategy and it worked quite well in the start but due to EXTREME VOLITILE characteristic of crypto market it became difficult for me to manage my positions and subsequently made losses So If you could skim through how you manage to maintain such stellar growth and returns it would be of great help to me Thanks a lot again
@@Emporia-dh6on what delta size you chose when place your puts, why it become difficult to manage? Are you using extensive leverage? For our fund the growth comes from options trades, crypto appreciation itself (all premium is reinvested back into crypto) and little part comes from management fees.
@@ReinisFischer Because of capital constraints I don't really pay attention to choosing the delta , but usually i pick deep out of the money puts which are costly to sell tho , and i need to take high leverage because of capital constraints again
@@Emporia-dh6on We have been selling deep out of the money put for 26 weeks, and have adjusted just some 2-3 times during the time. Could it be the position sizing then? We use about 1/10 of total capital for options trades with leverage - leaving room for adjustments and market crashes

Hi, I read your articles and have a question. In both of them, your initial investment is around ~0.1 Eth, yet in the scenarios where Eth price is far beyond the strike, you end up paying the difference on 1 Eth (not your smaller investment). Is this actually what happens? eg: "Anyhow, with $3,400 it means we need to deliver the difference, which is $3,400-$3,280, and convert it to crypto… 120/3400= 0.035 ETH, we are obligated to pay 0.035ETH" your investment is 0.1446 Eth in this case, about 1/7 eth. I would assume that this means you pay 0.035 Eth DIVIDED BY 7, 0.005 Eth, taking the investment into account. I mean if this isn't case, what happens with an investment of 100 Eth? Seller only pays for upside only on 1 Eth? Please let me know, thanks.

Either Deribit is a scam or you don't understand options. There's no risk in covered calls in general
The problem here is one - options are settled itself in crypto not FIAT.
@@ReinisFischer Deribit has recently added USDC perpetual futures. I hope they add USDC settled options next. Would that settle the problem?

I thought you were being bitter at first from some bad crypto options trades but after reading your article with the 3000$ expiry example i completely know what you mean now, ive been trying to figure out the cons of an ETH only platform for options but that provided alot of clarity. Thanks for the video! I don't quite understand why you say there is downside risk - if I sell a covered call on 1 BTC, Strike 50k in 3 months and now it reaches 70k, having to settle the 2k difference in BTC s fine no? Because I have 1 BTC which also rose to 70k, so I just give away 0.2857 BTC (20/70) at the end of the 3 months, but I keep the 0.714 BTC and the premium he have me. Since the 0.714 BTC is now worth 50k and I got to keep the Premium I still made a great return no?
Hi, thanks for your valuable comment.it depends on your strike prices. Yes you might get back some return in 3 months in the scenario you describe, but in case there will be a much stronger rally, say $100K, and you have your strike prices at 70K you will have to pay the difference.
@@ReinisFischer agreed but if I hold the coin until expiry of the option its fine that I pay the difference because I also made gains on the coin. Since its settled in BTC it would be very simmilar as my stock being called away, except that only a fraction of my BTC gets called away ((Spot-Strike) / Spot) - so i have no risk on the upside since its settled with BTC and I have this one BTC. if I understood correctly I will never have to pay more than 1 BTC even if the price goes to 1 Mio
@@AH-gt8sg It is true if the rally is reasonable, but if it goes out of control, the downside risk can wipe out your entire BTC, here I did some example with ETH - coveredcalls.reinisfischer.com/p/covered-calls-with-crypto-options again, I wish I was wrong, but from my experience, I have seen several times my coins wiped out, so I better wait for crypto ETF or/and keep just accumulating coins
@@ReinisFischer I know this is an old video, but this view intrigued me since the settling in crypto is not really an issue if you do accounting in $. Viewing that article linked it appears you're taking the loss from the collateral which is a fraction of spot holding for the covered call. I added your example to a spreadsheet using the full amount of 1 ETH collateral and it can be seen that crypto settlement is totally acceptable if you do your accounting in $ terms: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JUskVqXQk2gMuc6JWgdr16JlD6Xqm8u4XtQhQdnY2w0/edit?usp=sharing
