Today I step away from my usual programming to give you thoughts on the RUclips Rewind: The Shape of 2017 | #RUclipsRewind video. (link here if you haven't seen it :ruclips.net/video/FlsCjmMhFmw/видео.html) I'm a big fan of some of the older ones, but this year...Maybe not so much.

Back with another video that I had to fight tooth and nail with my POS laptop to make. I've got my new website up and running at www.elliotwinter.com. I take some risks with my Fujifilm gfx50s and talk a little about the channel. I continue with a family tradition.... Also, as a side note, I'm no longer going to be doing a daily upload, choosing to focus on making the videos better, rather than trying to fill a certain amount of time each day. Daily uploads might resume when life gets a bit more interesting. This is another video in my travel blog series, which shows my move to and travel Japan and a little of what life...

$7 cake - as seen on Worth It // Vlog #15
Hi Buddy, glad to see you back posting, we look forward to more videos and insight into your adventure! Still shooting the Fuji GFX?
Hi! Yes, still shooting the GFX, still love it. I'll be changing it for the 50R in November as it'll be more portable, so I'll be able to use it more. How goes the film camera collection?
Yeah, it goes, but quite fussy now. Mainly shooting all my classic glass on a Sony A7iii. If its film my M6 still is the go to, it is so simple it makes me think more about the image. The 50R looks amazing, not at all tempted by the Z7 or the EOS R, very uninspiring forays by the big boys.
@@shaunhall8158 I still miss my M6. The a7 iii looks great, the Nikon and canon are too little too late. They're almost a whole decade behind on lens releases for their mirror less systems. Even Panasonic's new offering will be acquiring lenses faster due to the sigma backing, as sigma only have to make the new mounts. All going well I might do a piece on the 50r when I get my hands on it!
Hope you better soon Elliot.Remember that you should do things because you want to and not because you feel you have to and you have a right to change your mind, RUclips is definitely imploding. Be happy and live for the now!
Thanks Shaun, it's much appreciated!
It’s allowed mate, good to know your alive as well 😉 Bristol is still here and it’s cold and wet so you are not missing much. Keep your head up 👍
Look into the camera. Use screen for reference only.
+Sean The Right Way thanks for the comment! I've changed a lot since that one, it was definitely something I needed to work on at that time
Great vlog Elliot, we will be going to Kyoto in April as well. I’m subbed now and looking forward to seeing more videos soon. I would appreciate if you could subscribe back to me. Then we can follow each other’s journey and support along the way :)
Thanks! Kyoto is awesome. I'll sub back!
Cool video!
Thanks!
Nice Vlog Elliot and a belated Merry Xmas, have a great New Year! Shaun & Julie.
Thanks Shaun and Julie! I hope you had a good Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year!
Kyoto looks so cool. Nice video Elliot, thanks for taking us on your adventure in Japan !
+Jamie Banks Kyoto is really very beautiful. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for the comment!
Great Vlog!
JD Casey thank you! It was really fun
two thumbs up.
+Mitos View Thanks! It means a lot!
Digging the music + camera angles!
+MisterTuno thanks so much!
Dude. I am totally with you on the whole ''localising rewind videos'' to each country. I know it might seem like they are segregating the platform, but it will show what each country brings. and give more opportunities to other lesser known creators. Regardless, ill see you for a beer in the 2019 one. ;)
2019? I like that. Realistic, yet still ambitious!
Its also cheating... It's only 13 months away. Haha.
+Tom Rodie there's that too!
I really do like the way you shoot the beginning, nice slow shots. I feel like I learned something on this vlog lol That architecture is awesome
+Matt Del Videos VLOGS thanks for the comment! I'm trying to put some of the best bits of my favourite bloggers styles together with a touch of my own flavour
Smart thinking and well executed
+Matt Del Videos VLOGS it's really appreciated, you've made my day
Love seeing your daily life in Japan! It is so cool that you moved there, I hope it's everything you dreamed of!
+Jamie Banks thanks! It's really cool here. We didn't really move here for me, but I'm making the best of it!
Get well mate.
+Shaun Hall I'm on the mend already! I bounce back fast. Thank you!
Need more history! Great videos olde chap!
+abdaloser thanks dude! When I get a bit more in to it imma start doing more history bits
I went to a zoo but the only animal it had was one dog, it was a shih tzu.
+Andy Critchfield a classic!
Top stuff!
+abdaloser thanks man!
Yo love this!💥💥
+Ben Turton thanks!
Nice work mate. I sort of get the feeling some contemporary Fred Herzog type images (especially with the neon lighting overload) would work well. How do the local populace react to the street photographer, is privacy a big issue? These vlogs are really interesting and, surprisingly, things are a lot different to how I would have imagined. Keep it going.
+Shaun Hall thanks, I'll have to set some neon shots up. Street photography is kind of accepted here to a degree, and I have a little leighway in some of these things as the locals just see it as "he's just an annoying tourist".
Vault Boy ftw!
+Andy Critchfield amen to that!
Really cool vlog! Can't wait to visit Japan in January. I'm making vlogs with travel tips based off my travels in Southeast Asia!
Thanks! It's really awesome here, I love it. We could swap subs if you wanted?
For sure! It'd be great to support each other on our respective journeys! Keep it up!
Japan!! What's your favorite part about being there?
+JD Casey I think it has to be how everything is a lot better lit and built bigger than my home town. Also, the food is super tasty but a lot healthier, considering the price. Also id's easy to get around so I can be in the city or in the mountains just as easily!
+JD Casey sure, will sub back! It's definitely worth it. I will say that a vacation here is really quite different to living here. But it's great either way!
Elliot Adventures yea I bet! And thanks!! I hope you like my videos!!
+JD Casey no problem! Thank you!
Elliot - did you take any pictures from the peace tower! Cheers, Shaun (Liked the music btw)
+Shaun Hall Hi Shaun! Sadly not as we couldn't go up that day, which meant boring photos!
Nice production work👍
+Shaun Hall thank you!
Good video, you seemed very comfortable with you delivery on this one, must have been the exhaustion! Makes Park St look easy 😉
+Shaun Hall thanks! It's something I know I need to work on. It's weird just talking to a camera like that. I hope I'm improving in general. Each video is a big learning curve, so I'm picking up a lot each time. The worst thing is I found out that I took the harder route up each mountain rather than the easier one! It would have been nice if it was Park St, I'm fond of Pinkmans bakery. Sadly no cakes at the tops of these hills!
Love your logo man greetz from the Dutch guy
Thanks man! Hope you and the family are well?
