That is a wall saver keeping pool water off the edge of the metal wall. Not to be cut apart!

The "flap" is called the Weir, and is can be put in or taken out simply by squeezing the edges of the weir and it comes out of the skimmer

Set up some solar panels to run your pool during the day only. Get used panels really cheap, they will last longer than the pool. Not necessary to run it at night.

I have a Coleman pool and I just bought an Intex Vacuum and omg I cannot figure out how to connect the vacuum hose to the return??? It doesn’t fit at all. 😢
