Hope you guys went to other more local hawker centre like Chinatown Complex (largest in Singapore), Old Airport Road, Tiong Bahru etc etc...all have cheaper and tastier food. Lau Pat Sat food prices are higher and is very touristy... That bowl you called hot pot, here in Singapore and Malaysia, it's called yong tau fu. Various vegetable and toufu items stuffed with fish paste (some has meat and fish paste variety). You can choose it soup or dry version. The sauce is used as a dip for the food items or if you order dry version, to mix into the dry food items and noodles. Is not to be poured into the soup.
We started out at Lau Pa Sat and We did went to the Chinatown hawker centre for dinner and you are right! Food is so much cheaper ☺️
@@abctravelers yeah I watched that but I think most people don't know the Chinatown Complex is at another end. That hawker place you went to is called People's Park where there are lots of Chinese stalls. Chinatown Complex is more localised with a wet market at the basement level :D And most stalls there operate breakfast and lunch. It has over 100 food stalls. The cheapest Michelin rated food is at this hawker centre - Hawker Chan. (though he lost the star not long ago after expanding).
What!!! Totally didn’t know that.. and we thought we were in the Chinatown hawker centre 🤦♀️🤦♀️.. thanks for the info.. now we know what next time ☺️

The stalls outside Lau Pa Sat opens in the evening. The roads will be closed and they'll put the tables out. Think u went a little early. Not all stalls inside are open too.
No wonder why!!! Oh man.. we did walked by on our way home and saw the place was completely packed.

Explore the island city and if possible roam into the heartlands eg. Bedok or tampines

Long queus at the airports and criminals activities are the reasons where the foreign tourists hate to travel in the Philippines. The gov't. should act on these problems, aside from other problems where tourists often encounter.
We actually didn’t run into any criminal activities when we were there.
