Operating A Sawmill Before Sawing Lumber
Thanks for the great video. Keeping it simple and fun.
Thanks so much and I hope you continue to enjoy and keep on watching.
OMG Brother😬😳😬. Your Generac is too close to the house and your gas meter. It’s going to burn up that gas meter during a prolonged outage during the summer. 😮
A Generac installer did the installation. Going to have to trust their expertise. Representatives from the local gas district, Alabama Power and the installer were all here on the day of the installation.
Nice video ! The 70 specs 341/2 wide great product showcase!
It was a great day for us sawmill guys and gals. Thanks so much for watching.
Also, Note: Apply dielectric grease to battery posts to prevent corrosion.
Thanks for your note.
Did you remove the 7.5 amp fuse? Noticed it looked like you touched terminals to generator frame when cleaning. Believe it is recommended when servicing.
Followed instructions. Thanks for watching.
Can’t wait to see the completed project!
If the heavy equipment will ever get me worked in. Love.
Awesome video!!
Thank you and thanks so much for watching.
Good job connecting to the draw bar and not the 3ph. Can't flip over that way with the pull point lower than the axle.
Thanks for watching and have a great day.
Thank you
Hope it helped.
@@StNixFarms I was able to remove the bad cable and reinstall the new cable from under the Gator, I only need to remove the dash panel, the storage compartment and the dump box. The cable tray is accessible under the Gator. BTW we have the XUV560 Gator
nice work thanks for sharing your work
Thank you and I hope you enjoyed and got something from our video.
I saw your account name on the back of a truck I typed it in new I'm here :)
Well thank you so much for subscribing. I hope you find something interesting from time to time.
Hallelujah. I am so happy for your excellent video. I am confident I have all I need to service my battery!!
Yes, I do too. Have a great one and enjoy your generator.
Hell no. Had a recall on the bolt for propeller and shop has had mine now for 35 days, still not back.
What shop did you have to take it to? Authorized dealer? Just wondering.
& I like your truck
Thank you, I really appreciate it and thanks for watching our channel.
I’m right behind you right now
Never know who is following you. Thanks so much.
Great information 🎉🎉
Thank you, and thanks for watching our channel.
Going to work on my Gererac in a few days. Great Video. Question: After the battery is disconnected, Do you have to re-enter any configuration in the menu?
That is a great question. I didn't and I don"t know where the backup is.
When checking battery I always use my multi meter to check battery voltage when the terminals are disconnected. It should read 12 volts when its not being charged with the systems trickle charger. Great video thanks for sharing,
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment. Larry
Thank you so much for this video. Our battery just died and we couldn't figure out where the battery was located. Saved us before the storms start this week.
Thanks so much for watching. I am glad the video was of some help to you. Larry
Good Job 👍
Thanks so much for watching. The fuel tank issue has been a challenge. I appreciate your comment. Larry
The boards underneath your sawmill going left to right and you cut out around the feet. Does the boards have anything to do with structure?
Only from the standpoint of a platform to hold my toe jack which is an ATV jack and a place to lay things. Also a place to walk on when putting my lubrication container and putting gas in the mill. Again just a good platform for things.
Were these from a company called vevor?
No, they were from Amazon with a brand name of Anisun.
Ate they LED?
No they are not LED. John Deere does not offer an LED kit. Only available aftermarket. They seem to be bright enough for my work.
Youre not supposed to hard pipe the electric directly to the generator like that
These were authorized Generac installers so I am going to assume they knew what they were doing. Thanks for watching. This group has installed several units just in my immediate area and come highly recommended.
@StNixFarms the generator vibrates. You use liquid tite and a flex outdoor gas line. Good luck
Awesome video. Just completed my battery maintenance. Thanks
Thanks so much for watching. I hope the video was helpfuld.
Thank you for the video! Do you know what to do if the transmission lever will not move at all ? At the transmission, I cannot move the shifter out of 4HI. I just topped off to the correct level. Any advice ?
This particular Gator has issues that I think are the result of some poor engineering. I am not an expert by no means on the machine and have a mechanic from my John Deere dealership that advises me on mine and the issues I have with it and what to do. Sorry I cannot be of any help.
Love the music
Thanks you so much for watching and I try to put a lot of thought in the music and how it helps convey the message of the video. It means a lot to know that occasionally it fits.
Love it!!
Thank you Berly Dawn. I really do like it and yet Nana has trouble getting in and out of it. She says she climbs in and falls out. Hope to see you soon.
Great Job! I really could have used these on mine tonight. I guess it's time to get to get them ordered.
Thanks so much for watching our channel. The lights have worked great so far. A necessary addition for late evening work.
Great info. Just starting to put my mill together and getting some ideas. I just wished I would have watched your video a week ago as now I am ripping apart what I did so far and incorporate some of your ideas in mine.
Thank you so much for watching the video. I am glad that I was able to give you some ideas. Other RUclips sawmillers have given me some ideas the same way. (Some before and some after)
Gave you a sub from Upstate New York. I should be number 1000 !
Thank you so much. Could you send me your email @ stnixfarms@gmail.com.
I have noticed that some people mount the aggressive tractor style tread in reverse in some low speed mud trucks. I figure that there must be a reason for doing this. However, I cannot exactly figure it out. Does anyone know why they do this?
I don't know the answer for your qustion.
Thx for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Unless u knock the set out and u know by the streak made in the wood of a set is out u shouldn’t have to set every timw
Thanks so much, that is helpful.
I am getting ready to start building my mill shed and this is almost the exact design I have planned. I have watched a lot of mill shed videos and this is the first one I have found to match when I am planning. I appreciate you sharing yours. This helps me visualize what I am going for. Nice work!
And the finished shed has worked really well for me. Thanks for watching.
I am building a sawmill shed this summer and will include a power winch in the design...
It is truly a back saver. Money well spent.
Nice job , when turning the log dont have winch directly above log, have it more over the back of mill, turns much more easily,,, Just saying
Thanks so much. I'll try that.
Looks great! We enjoyed the Colosseum too. The pantheon was cool too.
Yes, I did not want to bore with all the video so I left some things out. Really enjoying the reverse auction idea and following intently.
These things are a crap box. We have one and the head gaskets blew before 100 hrs. By 200 hours 2 e brake cables have broken, 2 shift cables have replaced due to they freeze all winter. Clutch is junk, won't disengage unless you shut it off. It never gets worked hard. Mostly carry tool box to projects, get the mail ect. A real disappointment. John Deere should be embarrassed.
Yes, Deere has already put two clutches in mine. Would not buy this model if I knew what I know now.
Thanks for posting the video, how did they anchor the generator to the slab?
Setting loose. The weight of the generator holds it firmly in place. Have seen absolutely no movement. That thing is heavy.
@@StNixFarms thanks for responding I went ahead and just used lag shields to anchor it down, I was thinking the same thing about the weight being enough to hold it down. My electrician told me people will steal these things, so maybe anchoring it down will cause them one more step lol thanks again!
Yes I am planning to build a small privacy fence around mine just for that reason.
@@StNixFarms man some people suck! Well thanks again for the video.
Nice review
It was a great tractor. Just needed one larger. Now have the 4052R. Thanks for watching.
Do you still have the 3025D?How many hours are on it?thanks!
I had a 3035D, and no I no longer have it as I traded it in on my 4052R. Thanks for watching.
Damn I wonder if the old man ever got any lumber cut ??? He does not seem to understand if you put the small end to start the cut it makes it easier and faster to determine what size cant you get !!!
Old man? ...and not always the case. Many millers will say which end doesn't really matter and I don't pay any attention to that as I just go with how I have picked up the log.
I noticed the 'pivot' while I was putting the front snow chains on my 2018 JD2025r so, no stability help there!! Thursday, I ordered 2" rear wheel spacers from Bro-Tek (New Brunswick Canada I believe) after calling them and discussing their products quality and durability, etc. Looks like they will be here (upstate NY) on Wednesday. So just a week for shipping as they are in stock. Want a little more clearance for my diamond/cleated rear chains. Should help some with stability but I have a 3-point rock box which does a lot for stability when moving with weight on loader or on forks. Will be looking into 'beet juice' soon too! Bert advice for hills......straight up or down, forward or reverse but......NEVER SIDEWAYS!! BE SAFE!
Thanks so much for your comment and watching. I wish we had a dealer for Rimguard near my location. The nearest one is about 120 miles away. My dealer did put in my rear tires what they use for all the farmers in my area.
Thanks, nice mill set up, as a much younger version of myself, I ran a mill and then used the product for mortise and tenon, post and beam work, the objective was to provide a blemish less product the customer. Cant-hooks and log rollers bite in and scar, if you need to produce a “finished” product, you’ll need to protect your corners from strap bite but your on to something.
I do no sawing for the public. All my lumber is for personal use. Thanks for watching.
How many hours did this take you? Dealer wants $700 to replace mine and 1 other broken part. Seems like a lot of work
It took me a couple of days, all day long with all the taking off and putting back on. Doable but not a real easy task. Thanks for watching.
Adding width to the front won’t do anything at all to affect stability. The front is on a pivot. I may flip the rims on mine so I can get more clearance for chains. Add width and rim guard ballast to the rear if you’re looking for lateral stability.
Very true. I noticed the 'pivot' while I was putting the front snow chains on my 2018 JD2025r. Thursday, I ordered 2" rear wheel spacers from Bro-Tek (New Brunswick Canada I believe) after calling them and discussing their products quality and durability, etc. Looks like they will be here (upstate NY) on Wednesday. Should help some with stability but I have a 3-point rock box which does a lot for stability when with weight on loader or on forks. Will be looking into 'beet juice' soon too!
I no longer have this tractor as I now have my 4052R. I have ballast in rear tires and 5.5 inch John Deere spacers. I will add that a 40 year tractor mechanic who has the same tractor as that one recommended that I reverse them.
Thanks for watching and may you have a healthy and prosperous 2024.
Larry where are you located?
North Alabama. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic video! I was able to replace my own cable thanks to this video. Greatly appreciate it!!!
Fantastic! Thanks for watching.
