Why Do My Shots Go Too High or Too Low?

Why Do My Shots Go Too High or Too Low?
Hows the flex? Mine flexs so much it opens the face up causing a wicked slice. why I'm thinking going steel
I hit my irons too far because I swing max speed but I should really slow down because my 9 goes 150m and I don't have anything for like below 130
I had Taylormade Speedblades with 85grm Stiff steel shafts. Club fitter got me to hit three balls I went 145 metres at 85mph. He switched me down to Regular flex, 90 gram KBS graphite and I went 152 metres. 66 yr old Aussie.
Switched to the recoil 95g. Didn’t consider swing speed, just comfort. Really enjoy the lighter shaft.
oddly how is your swing needing a stiff shaft. the test you performed shows your swing need a regular shaft flex. or maybe lower.
Even if graphite is better, men won’t use it. Like men who shoot 100+ rounds won’t play from the front tees
Started golfing yesterday and hit my 8 iron 220
yes but older steel true temper shafts are 132 grams and I made some graphite shafts some 35 years ago and they were 20 yards farther
Difference from S steel to R graphite, clubs- Honeycomb USA, 68yrs old, swing speed 85-105mph. So I want to kno if it's worth it to reshaft these clubs to graphite, hv th complete set 2-sw.
New irons can be significantly more forgiving. And most pros don't even play 2 irons anymore. Normal weekend duffers play up to 7, 6 or 5 iron and get hybrids or fairways for longer clubs. I have a 9 wood that I love.
excellent comments at srtart " we cannot tell you how far you should hit your clubs", because every set has different lofts, some of newer models have 22 degree loft in 5 irons, compare with older sets where 5 iron was 27 degrees loft. also distance depends on ball, quality of strike, wind , air temperature, type of shaft in different clubs, heaps of variables. So golfers should not compare their distance with other golfers, your distance is your distance. also good players often make clubs go different distance, eg hit a 7 iron 100 yds into wind with a low punch.
unless the problem is finding the straight putt
I was using Titleist blades with a 110 gram steel fiber shaft. I went to a Callaway fitter and he fitted me with the apex heads and the graphite recoil f-2 shaft. My dispersion went from 40 yards with the Titleist to 10 yards with the apex. I can pull out a club and know how far it’s going consistently now. I picked up 30 yards distance with the change and my scores went from mid to upper 80s to shooting mid to upper 70s with a few low 80s thrown in there too. My son is a PGA pro and took me with him when he did his fitting, it was the best experience in golf that I’ve ever had.
Dont you think perhaps that your pga pro son could have told you years ago that you shouldnt be playing titleist blades when you were shooting in the high 80s with them?Tiger wouldnt have used titleiist blades if he shot in the high 80s...Butch Harmon would have told him get real.
@@lifesaver3499 He did tell me a few years ago, but I only played a couple times a month. Now I’m retired and play once or twice a week so now I’m getting back to my old game when I shot 70s with the blades. A new putter helped a lot too! Haha
This is fantastic with clarity I see your point of someone doesn’t get the simplistically of this they shouldn’t be on the course , and they’re probably not.
Is this a joke
I switched from steel 115g to Recoil 95g graphite this spring after advanced testing with both(steelfiber also)in different weights to find better consistency. I have found it in this particular shaft. Better ball striking throughout my set.
So, how do you find the straight putt? Wouldn't that be helpful? lol
for me 7i something around 110 m :-(
Imo graphite feels nicer.
😱 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓶
Guys a nasty putter though lol
I started playing golf 1 month in now. Hitting my 7 iron 160-180
Good video. The other aspect of changing shafts that will affect distance is the change to launch angle. I actually found with the Modus 120 that I hit the ball 5 to 7 yards longer than I did with the 105 simply because it lowered my launch a couple of degrees
It's about the weight, not the material. And if you're getting 2 mph more out of graphite, that's significant. That could translate into 6-8 yards of carry.
I’ve done the same type of testing. The bottom line is some people can’t hit the ball as solid with a light shaft therefore they lose distance.
That's me.. have problem using light clubs
How about doing a KBS Stiff 85 Graphite vs. steel in the P790 comparison and how it impacts mid to higher handicap players. Or does it..
thank you im 72and tried graphic i dont see any difference adams a7os graphic titleist ap1710 steel
See all comments ! Everyone asks the same thing... HOW DO YOU KNOW IS THE PUTT IS A STRAIGHT PUTT???????!!!!!
Started playing golf 2 weeks ago and my favourite club is the 5 iron, I'm hitting that 150-180 yards at the moment, I'm in love with game and can't wait to get back on the range again
I hit the toe waaay too much. In fact I shot an 81 hitting alot of toe shots, so that means I do it consistently. In my quest to figure out why I realixed that understanding the movement of the CG of the club through the swing is key. In the middle of the downswing (club horizontal to ground) the CG is just above the shaft essentially the hosel. Although at impact the CG is just above the club head and away from the shaft. The CG is always the same spot on the club however the swing rotates the shaft so the shaft actually rotates around the CG during your swing. Thats just physics. My swing thought is that if I throw the hosel at the ball (throwing the CG at the ball) the shaft will "clear" itself out of the way and you will hit the sweet spot. So throw the CG at the ball in the downswing. The CG will feel like its the hosel of the club. Thoughts...
I hit the ball well with low speed but not as accuracy when I tried to hit harder. How would you correct it? thank you in advance
What the hell are you saying
How accurate are those golf simulators said I hit a 7 iron 219 is that right or no
@Andrew Todd true I am the amazing golf ball whacker guy tho 😎
Given stance and ball placement, merely use upper arms to "whip" the arms to full extension at the ball. Relaxation from elbows down.
A couple months ago i went out on the course and my 9 was carrying 200 yards. I’m 17 and weigh 145 how is this happening
The distance is probably 50 yards off at your range . Use a range finder to be precise

Proper golf swings have to do with understanding how and why they are carried out and those things are present in golf swing techniques , Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it). My irons improved Fifteen yards and my driver increased twenty-five after I completed reading the guide for the 2nd time. Due to these improvements, I am much more confident and I am having more enjoyment with golf.
great vid! very surprising results, feel a lot better about hitting the range balls now.
Those P790s are not player’s irons. Those are much more improvement

Rory has optimized his impact conditions, such as launch, angle of attack, club path, forward shaft lean, etc.
Shaft lean changes the loft of the club at contact. Less loft means more distance in general.
I hit my 7 iron the best I have ever (any of my irons really) and I hit it 150, cant even get my 6 to go past that yet. I just started golfing around 3 weeks ago
Nice Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Yanaylee Yanrooklyn Magic (Sure I saw it on Google)? 3 weeks ago and you are already hitting 150 yards with your 7 iron. that is impressive. self taught or did u hire a golf trainer?
Did any other person just interpret that the higher the power output the higher the matching distance you get, but the lower the power input then you get further than expected distance. So what seems more worth it in the game of golf? Play soft from what the numbers look like.
I had one of the best shots of my life with a 7 iron about a month ago. Put a slice on my drive but it sliced left and hooked right, bounced off a tree and landed in the middle of fairway about 160 yards off the tee. Hit my 7 iron straight as ever 170+ yards onto the green, still 3 putted for bogey. Also chipped onto the green from an upward slant about 60 yards out on another hole that day.
@@gingerpeachy3044 Yeah my guess is you didn't hit the ball properly and got lucky.
Enjoyed your overall approach. Many golfers always think of their equipment to better their golf. But swing always trumps equipment, as you showed this gentleman. Good equipment with a good swing is usually the answer. Neither one needs to be great.
You're only comparing spin numbers however. The ball speed no question has to be lower than Pro V due to the inability to compress.
Distance difference?
My thoughts on this explanation of green reading: ruclips.net/video/JohGniYph-c/видео.html
Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's not valid. If you can determine the fall line (if there is one. Obviously a level , flat surface will not have a fall line) then figuring out which way the ball breaks becomes so much easier. Of course things like, grain, wind, type of grass , uphill vs downhill, speed at which you will send the ball on its journey etc, will have an effect on how much the putt will break. There is no fool proof formula for reading putts but there are tricks that can make your life a lot easier. Learning to find the fall line is one of them.
Audio it's atrocious. Stop wasting everyone's time and have higher standards for yourself.
What were the ball speed differences though?
👍 great video guys!
