I got the valve in and put everything back together and I think I'm getting a boost leak somewhere because my car isn't accelerating properly. Did you have any problems like this?
i have the cold air intake and this but still not a loud flutter i have to go to the tunes to remap cuz its messing up the boost ratio car detects rong pressurs cus of the gfb only the tuner can remap that i geus
DO NOT BUY AND INSTALL! its a waste of time and doesnt do anything with power and for about $130, it really doesnt do anything! You are better off replacing with a stock diverter valve
@@eriknesh4085 have you installed it? I did it with my n20 engine.. even took out the main big spring to see a difference.. actually worked better without it. You can feel the engine struggling as you hold down the gas pedal and wait for the needle to move up the rpm gauage. It feels as though the engine is pushing out through a tiny straw as you try to accelerate. My stock diverter valve didn't have that issue. Maybe works great on Volkswagons and automatics but not BMW n20 MANUALS..

Great Video Bro , i did notice on the before video i could here a bit of that flutter sound from the original diverter valve possibly from being cracked like you mentioned upon removal. then the different sound the GFB makes from other videos I've seen on YT
Was wondering how you took the piston off the DV so easily. Its really hard to take it off for me. Got so frustrated i just reinstalled it. And want to have another go at it
Honestly it just pulled apart without much effort. If yours is stuck I'd try to lubricate it with a penitrant like PB Blaster. And then pull it out with Channel Locks

One question tho, I feel like the throttle response is different I don’t know if it’s better and my shifts are a lot smoother and now around 7 rpm. I don’t know if I can say I felt different driving experience. What do you think ?
Saw so many different videos on how to remove the valve. The top right bolt is definitely the toughest!!! I had everything apart and had to put everything back because I couldn’t loosen the bolt. Even with the long ball joint bit. I never would have thought to q 1st try an Allen key. This make so much more scene and will attempt again later this afternoon!!! New subscriber thanks!!!!!!!!

There was nothing g wrong with my stock diverter valve that I could tell. It wasnt until replacing it as preventative maintenance that I noticed the crack.
It's a 1968, not a 1967. This was the first year of the new design en the only year with still 3hp. After that they became 4hp

I’m assuming it won’t flutter unless you also have an intake?

literally helps with quicker spool because it can more precisely control how pressure is recirculated

Why are you guys replacing this valve? Any symptoms I should be looking for if mine is going bad?
HOW THE F were you able to put the top right bolt back in?! I even filed of an edge of my engine block and still cant fit the bolt...
I took a long ball end t30 and used electrical tape and lightly taped the screw on the end so it didn’t fall off just to catch a thread.
This seems nothing like a Chevy problem

What kind of bolts are in the dv itself, you mentioned that the waste gate had t30s right ?
Waste gate actuator is T45. Diverter valve is T30.
Didn’t notice much of a sound difference, any idea why ?
