    Being into warm water and salt chuck (mangroves) tenkara fishing for the last 15 years, i'm ptetty sure this rod can handle baby tarpons. .. nice vid! 👍

    Yes, You can bring 23” trout with that rod as long as you don't horse the fish, and keep the rod up between 75 to 90 degrees. Let the rod does the work.

      @@Pmmapping too short to use tapered line. Tapered line is good from 11’ to 20’ for 10’ to 13’

      @@joncochran6494 It's not really named. One of the big tenkara companies used to sell it for like $50, but I found it on temu for $20. It is just a Chinese made rubberized net.

      You're welcome! So far I have used 7 and 8 foot lines with around 2 feet of tippet. The 8 foot was pushing it when landing fish while wading over knee deep. I have used the rod a ton since the review and love it even more now.

    Upper tearbritches creek is mentioned on an old brook trout map as having some. I've been close to the headwaters. It's at over 3400ft. Perfect for them.

      I have heard stories of them being caught pretty close to where the trail meets the creek.

    You can still catch wild trout 2 miles upstream from where I think you're at in that video (Just upstream from emery creek confluence).

      I have only caught stocked browns in Holly. Emery did produce a wild 12 inch brown on one visit

      The suntech had a red body with grizzly reverse hackle and I think I was using a black foam body Caddis with the Shimotsuke.

      I was using the Shimotsuke tenkara gen 240. An excellent little rod you can find on eBay and occasionally Amazon.

      Exactly! It was obvious once I had been shown, but I didn't even think about it before that. I would take the time to put away one line and take out another. It really makes a huge difference in keeping your rhythm.

      You basically just tie a slip knot at a different point in the level line. It's a pretty simple concept that I never thought of. If you can't find a tutorial, I can make one.

      Jones Creek and Tuckaluge creek have both produced browns for me. Jones is predominantly brown trout, but they are very easily spooked

      I had to edit after further review. I was using a red and black sakasa kebari. I usually swap between a foam Caddis and a black sakasa kebari on this particular water. I think it just happened to be the fly that was on the line

    I got a mild bent rim. Balanced it and installed on rear so at least I can go to the repair center. At least the guy requested for balance

    I used to be put off by you naming the creeks, but I have honestly come to love your videos. You should try holly creek where it crosses to Mulberry gap rd. I live about 15 mins away and have been wanting to try it!

      I haven't been able to get out much lately and when I do I don't go far. That may be able to happen since Holly Creek is only about 45 minutes from me. A lot of people don't particularly care for my naming of creeks, but I really only go to ones that are in my father's books. I have yet to venture outside of the published area.

      I completely disagree. This information has been out there for decades. It is all recorded in books that are available for anyone to read. I can guarantee more people have read about this creek than have watched this video and I have still not seen another person fishing there. In fact the last person that saw me there couldn't understand why I would want to catch 4 inch fish. I understand that people are concerned, but calling others irresponsible on the internet simply doesn't make a difference. If you really are concerned about these fish there are other ways to help that don't involve negativity.

    Almost looks like a holdover stocker. Hard to believe a brookie would get that big and hold that far down on that creek that I wish you hadn’t named. I get it’s not a big channel, but I was pointed to this video by someone super pumped about a brookie being there…

      Its color is a little lacking and it does look battle worn, but all of its fins were in good shape. I'm not sure how it got there. I get that everyone is worried about native Georgia fish getting abused, but my goal is information. Not all people will agree with what info I put out there and I'm okay with that. I'm not going to censor myself because of it either. These fish are disappearing from our streams regardless of the actions we take and I personally want people to be able to enjoy them.
