Kadelbach Organic Farms
США
Добавлен 3 апр 2018
Kadelbach Organic Farms has been certified since 2011. Glen farms on the home farm that his parents bought in the late 1960's. Glen loves to share the things that are going on around his farm. Every season of the year creates different challenges and adventures. Along with farming, we operate a couple other businesses that fit with our farm. We build flame weeders for other farmers to help them control weeds on their farms. CentraSeed is a certified organic handler and seed conditioning business where we clean and sell seed to organic farmers. Farms use a lot of lubricants too, so we are an AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants dealer as well. We are glad you are part of our journey.
Cutting Oats With A 21ft Wide Case IH 8210 Windrower.
This is the first time we have ran a windrower. This is a huge upgrade from sitting on our IH 4000 swather. We are able to cut 21 feet wide instead of 12 feet wide. We have an air conditioned cab. I am clean at the end of the day and I can still breath, this is the best reason to run a windrower vs the swather. The time saved is huge too. The swather cut at about 2 mph. This windrower was at 9 mph. It saves us days of time spend cutting.
Why are we cutting it instead of just harvesting it with a combine? This is certified organic oats. Cutting it like we do lets the grain, grass and other weeds dry a few days before we harvest. This makes for a nice dry grain to put into the bin. It helps...

Cleaning Black Beans at CentraSeed
Просмотров 1063 года назад
We are running black beans through our Clipper Eclipse 334. It is cleaning all the chaff, sticks, dirt, bugs and other debris. It gets most of the splits. Black beans have a black skin and the center is white. These beans need to be handled very carefully to prevent them from splitting. We have a big dust collector that keeps the dust down and sucks up more dirt and debris. Then the beans are r...

Seeing some surprising things when I went to look at my crops.
Просмотров 1083 года назад
Sponsored by www.CentralSynthetics.com Every so often I get a chance to run out to the fields and see how the crops are growing. This gives me a chance to assess what is going on and what I need to do to help it along through the growing season. This morning I was pleasantly surprised to see the black bean and the soy beans had started growing in the dry soil. I did my best to plant the seeds i...

Has that planter been reliable for you?
What kind of discs are you using on that grinder to sharpen those hardened steel blades?

Ah, the best life.
You gotta wonder where the birds are, that they don't hang out for the flying food festival going on there!
They come around when it is quieter.
Getting it done. Nice to see the videos again, my friend!
Thank you.
Looks great 👍🏻
Thank you.
Just subscribed to the channel going threw watching all the videos. Very good content.
Do you still use it? Is this your primary way of weeding and do you still get regrowth? Just after how well it works Organic farmer in Australia
Hello Glen, I'm just curious about the tank, You mentioned that it is a 250 Gallons tank, when you fill this tank it actually let you fill it at 250 gallons or do you go at 80% (200 Gallons)?? Looking forward to read your comments, Regards!
I fill it to 85%. I will be using it right away.
Do you manufacture and sell your design/builds? Do you custom design?
Yes we design and manufacture these. wwwkadelbachmfg.com. We can custom design and build.
We all struggle with these decisions...usually by the time you see a problem, it’s too late. We are finally getting good rain! Good luck 👍🏻
As we all learn, I started carrying a small garden hand transplanter(pocket sized spade shovel) in my truck. How when I go out and check the fields I can dig up some soil by hand. When I see the white root in the soil I know I need to get out there. Timing is everything with weed control. It's going to be a great year!!
H2?
Not sure what you mean. The rake is an H&S brand.
Sorry, what gear were you in. Looked like might have been High-2nd?
Looks great!👍🏻. Neighbor always said you need to see ONE bloom on the first cutting 🙂. Hay transition +1
What an interesting video, Glen. I can't wait to see more of your videos. I know nothing about organic farming, but I do love learning about things. Would love to know how you got involved in organic farming, what crops you grow, etc. I'll have to check to see if you have other videos that talk about that. Great job!! I'm going to share. Hopefully my "organic" friends will like your channel and subscribe, too!
Thank you Bonnie! I will make a video shortly on why I became an organic farmer. Thanks again!!
Cockleburs are a sign of good fertility 😉. I have had bad fields one year and then none for years! I think lime really helps. Stale seedbed 👍🏻🙂. We are on the dry edge...no recreational tillage this year 😁.
Whoohooo amazing... Love to hear more on what your doing.
Awesome!
Ya but is it saf...BOOOOOMMMMMMM
It is fairly safe. The tank has safety valves built it in. Organic farmers have been using flamer for decades. I have never heard of anyone getting hurt using one.
@@centralsynthetics Thats good news, we purchased a weed zapper last year and most people think it's very dangerous also but they are relatively safe.
Organic, biggest crock of shyt ever shoved down the consumers throat ..... so global warming is not an issue but herbicides are...
Organic is just another niche market. If you don't like it don't buy it.
must b expensive to use
On average it uses about 10-14 gallons of propane per acre.
@@kadelbachorganicfarms Is that across the whole machine or per burner?
Kudos man, great work. I am trying to build something small, that would be driven by hydraulics to go under our grape trees one or two burners, before we till the in between the rows. Your website is down...
Try the website again. we have a small flamer for Vinyards. Thanks for the comment. www.kadelbachmfg.com
@@kadelbachorganicfarms i live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to far to ship economically. 😢
good job.........my hat is off to ya!
Thank you!!
Getting ready for harvest here also! Good luck.
We got another 1/2" of rain. We are hoping later this week. Sun and mid 60's later this week is forecasted. Have a safe harvest!!
I liked the different camera angles while cutting. Very nice.
Thanks Lon. It was a fun video to make.
Approximately how long does it take for hay to dry before it’s ready to bale?
If the weather cooperates, I cut it, let it dry a day, then rake it on day 3, then bale it on day 4. Thanks for asking.
Yes you have out grown your disk. The 210 just plays with it.
We are looking for a bigger one. 😃
Thanks for posting these videos. Is there any difference between square and round bails for the customer? I would think square bails would be better for storage and round would be better for larger hail size. Also, I’m curious how much fuel you used that day and how do you think about fuel usage - gallons per acre, bails per gallon? Thanks!
Thanks for the comment. We own a big square baler because we sell all of our hay. They are easier for us to store and load onto trucks. I think it all depends on what the end user has in mind. Round bales can be stored outside and are easier to wrap for high moisture balage. I had it figured out at one time how much fuel per bale....I don't remember any more. My tractor is very fuel efficient.
Thanks Glen. I’ll stay tuned.
The weather has been great lately for making hay!
Yes. I hope it lasts. A lot of wheat needs to be harvested.
This Summer is turning out to be a great Summer. Finally stopped raining. This Spring was a real challenge. The skies are so blue. It was a great day to make hay.
Sounds like they need to come down with lead poisoning.
Can't do that yet. Sounds like the geese had a record hatch this Spring and should be great hunting this Fall.
Yes the pea combines have a leveling g system on them.
They are amazing machines to watch. Amazing how they can strip the pod off the pea without destroying the pea. They have 5 rollers that the pods "bounce" off of that breaks the pods and separates the peas. The peas fall to the bottom conveyor and the pods and other material go out the side or back. They hold about 4000 pounds of peas before they need to dump.
@@kadelbachorganicfarms Yes they are I interned at that canning company when I was in Diesel school. I knew nothing about them going in. I was quite the experience for me i learned alot.
Very nice. Have you used one before ? . I'm an organic corn and soybean farmer in northwest Missouri. And we just had a six row flamer built. Been to wet to plant so havnt got to try it out yet.
I have a hooded flamer that flames over the row. After a couple days you can definitely see where you flamed and where you missed. Looking forward to getting this in the field. It is very wet up here too. Best of luck getting your crop in!!
I have a set of cobalt drill bits I bought off the Mac Tool truck. And if I remember correctly they work the best at low speeds.
I agree. I was running the drill at 250 rmp here too. Thanks for the comment.
