I try to place a set of reading glasses on the table just to show the scale of the train. I must have missed that.

Nice. You can't go wrong with a Mayberry like town. Have a boat load of fun and see if you would like to carry it further before doing anything too fancy. I built my layout with portability in mind as we're not sure how long we'll stay in this house. Thank you for the kind complement and best of luck!

@@JosephEHernandez Originally, I was going for a simple layout on my dining table which I could move if needed. Then, I thought of adding a foam base but, knew it couldn't be moved easily without possibly cracking it. So, I made the depth 4" less wide and now it can fit on a hollow core door 36"x80". I have plans to add areas slowly to the original basic layout over time. Thanks for responding.

Thank you so much for the kind comment. I took the layout plan from James’ N Scale Train Layout Project on RUclips. I may have have added a little distance to the edge of the layout with straights, but it's essentially the same. The plan is still on the SCARM site ( Train Layout Tool) under "The First KATO N Scale Layout of James". I hope that helps.

Thank you. Sorry late responding to your comment. The streets are called "Easy Streets" from CMR Products. They offered different styles, e.g. Fresh and Aged Asphalt. I ordered the "Fresh Asphalt".

Thank you. The lighting is included with the WOODLAND SCENICS N SCALE BUILT-UP STRUCTURE - SMITH BROTHERS TV & APPLIANCE STORE. You plug the building into a light hub and power adapter they also sell. It's all ready to go.
