What is the concept behind the weight on the bell brace? (Or, at least, why do _you_ use one?)
👏 bravi
👏👏👏 Sounds great!
One of those great jazz tunes that came out of the movies like Stella by Starlight
You sound incredible, whats your setup?
@@Memepancake thank you! Here I’m playing a mark VI bari, with a V16 B7 mouthpiece and 2.5 ZZ reeds
Very nice, Brian!
Unfortunately, after this performance the piano was infected with covid... ;)
Wonderful playing! Is it possible to aquire and perform your arrangement?
NICE!
Fantastic rendition of this great standard. Fabulous solos all round
Who's on bass? Two pianists listed, but no bass.
@@AnnieMac608 whoops! Reuben is on bass. Fixed, thanks for catching Ann 😊
@@BrianKachur 😊
It's great to hear you play some jazz and you sound fantastic! I feel like being able to teach both will be very important for professorships in coming years.
Thanks so much! And yes, absolutely!
sodelicious...............................
Played on a Selmer Series 2 Saxophone with S80 or S90 mouthpiece? My guess. The tone being produced by the player is very pleasant 🙂
Bravo!
This is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥 🎷 7:50
I always rewatch the video of you doing the cadenza during my lesson now I can listen to the full thing !!!!!!! 7:06
Haha I'm glad you enjoyed it! Wishing you all the best, Mauricio!
Lindo,!!
You sound fantastic Brian! I haven’t heard this piece in years and your recording of it is the best I’ve heard! Well done!
@@ethanwetzel6954 thanks Ethan! I appreciate the kind words and hope you are well!
awesome
Bravo! You have done a lovely job of creating a cello like timbre!
Thank you very much! :)
Vous avez la partition ?
Prepping this piece with a sax player for the first time, and I'm so excited to see Liz at the piano! Going to steal everything from her third movement- such a ridiculous reduction to manage with all the percussion in the orchestration. She is absolutely the gold standard for pianists.
An absolute pleasure to play alongside such a fine musician as you, Brian!
Late reply lol but thanks man, you too!!!
Outstanding, Brian & David! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!! Such an awesome and fun piece!!
this slaps bro
🔥❤🔥❤🔥
This sounds award worthy
Hello, I’m wondering where you found this version?
Hi! I transposed the clarinet part to alto saxophone and played that part, with a few octave changes. The composer also has an approved version of the clarinet part transposed for saxophone, I'm sure she would send you the part after purchasing the original score and parts if you ask.
What's he trying to say? ;) Life is an allusion, perhaps. ;)
what kind of harness do you use? I've been looking around for that specific one but haven't been able to find it
I believe it is a breathtaking neck strap they are pretty pricy but I personally have one and it was worth every penny.
HOLY SHIT
Absolutely beautiful playing, Brian!
Thank you Bob!!!
Yoooo this slaps

Wonderful performance!
Fabulous tone and beautiful!
beautiful!!!
Great bari tone, Brian.
And where, pray tell, is Rackham Amphitheater?
University of Michigan! Forgot to specify. I’m still here another year finishing my master’s 😅 thanks for watching!
@@BrianKachur Ah, so you have the good fortune to be studying with someone who knew Lee personally. (I knew him a little when he was at NEC.) Someday I hope to be able to take a shot at that piece...
a baritone sax and a bass clarinet?
とても素敵な音です。こんな音がでるように目指したいです。
Are you venting the C# on those low Eb's??🤓
Haha yes!! Tricky but worth it!
So much energy and artistry... super inspiring. Huge congrats man, and bravo!
Thank you Nick, that means a lot!!
All I can say is Wow Brian!
Thank you Ms. Twomey!! Miss you!
That must have been a monstrous undertaking... Amazing work!!
Thank you so much Brian!
