0:36 and 1:40 😊
Eat Your Heart Out Ringo You Cant Hold A Stick To These Guys, This Is What Drumming's All About, MAX ROACH, BARRAT DEEMES, AND, DANNY BARCELONA, TWO OF WHOM WERE LOUIS ARMSTRONGS DRUMMERS.❤❤
Dont Forget, The Great, MAX ROACH and, BARRAT DEEMES.❤❤
So Great seeing two Greats , we are so lucky to have this documentation ! we all can see trailblazing in the musical art of drumming ...we are lucky we can enjoy and learn something of the past.....and Sammy what a Showman ...Smile !
To bad Karen Carpenter wasn't around then then it would have been a three-way contest.
Great vocals, great bass line
I was a drummer in the 60s / 70s, but I’m okay now. 🤪
Gene all day !!!
Sammy is greatdrummer in his own right
I'm lucky enough to have seen Gene once in New York City in the mid-60's and Buddy three times in Omaha in the 70's. The only thing this video needed was a section with Joe Morello.
Simply the best, or nowadays the GOAT!
Wonderful Tal Farlow !
Gene Krupa was good but Rich was and always will be in a class if his own.
Gene Krupa should have never been on that stage with Buddy Rich
Pure gold.
Beautiful ending. Tal was something else.
Talk about an original version! The two guitars playing the head sound great.
Recorded in mono in 1952. Later covered to become a bigger hit (in mono) by Martin Denny in 1956. Denny rerecorded the true stereo version of "Quiet Village" again in 1959. This special album was issued by Capitol in 1968 (by then, Les Baxter was well known for recording The Forum's Top 50 hit "The River Is Wide", first for Penthouse Records, then again for Mira Records in 1967.)
I guess Phil did not like using metronomes.
Johnny Smith was an underrated genius.
Wonderful !
Gene Krupa was a much better drummer. He was second to none. ❤
1959 From: One Night Stand: the World of Lenny Bruce; tv special, 1.5 hours
Nice hehehe
No comments? Was everyone left speechless?
Loved him and Gene Krupa drum battles.
Dope!
That cat is smokin' on those drums baby.I'm in my sixties and my soundtrack of life is from my generation's music.
Ok , hear me out , these guys belong in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame A better beat and more rhythm than most of the bands in the Hall
yawn
God that son of a bitch could play.
The ideal jazz guitarist
The sheer power and dexterity he had in his left hand is stunning. Watching him is like the finest choreography. He was in a class all by himself. What he had, you can't teach.
In a career that spanned decades, this four minute clip hardly showcases Rich's best. We have a boxed set of Buddy's work. - 5 CDs. Find that if you want to hear his best.
Mundell was my cousin. His father and my grandmother were brother and sister.
Buddy was a phenomenon...and Gene knew it...all with a shirt, tie and restricting jacket almost every time he played.
I saw Buddy three times in the 70's and he didn't wear a jacket or tie any of the three.
@@alcyone9361 well goody for you...video would back me up.
3:48 the two guys looking at each other like "what's happening right now?!?" 😂
Senza questi due pazzi GENI TALENTI MONDIALI, non esisterebbe ne la Batteria ne Batteristi, grazie a Buddy e Krupa se oggi al mondo ci sono allievi GENI E TALENTI che suonano cosi' !!!
Binge watching BR videos the last coupla months. This band playing 'mexicali nose' on this session is the best stuff I've heard.
Magia Pura
You always get more than you bargained for when you trade fours with Buddy Rich
Hard to touch this guy
As in all the arts, there are only a few whose talent and commitment to excellence puts them in a special class. Buddy Rich is there with Joe Morello (my personal favorite) and a few others (Bellson, Krupa, etc.). I honor all of them without the need to attach "greatest."
That left hand technique....jesus christ.
No doubt #1, could play rock with one hand. 4:25
Right before Buddy started wearing a toupee😂❤
Best song off this album
🔥🔥🔥
Whole band is smokin'
