@@Kuchenwurst Funny story, once at an R1 it kept spitting out this really strange and stiff Sprite bottle, ended up chucking it. Later found out it was one of those MehrWeg things, deposit of 0,15€ I don’t collect Deutschen Leergutflaschen though, as we never go there. Do you find any foreign containers? If so, what country?

@TruckFan542 I'm not a trucker by trade, I just stumbled upon this video by chance 😅 One sometimes sees imported cans of coke from Turkey which don't give deposit, or some Asian ones.

@@Kuchenwurst Hahahahaha nor am I, i forget how the channel got that name. I can imagine imported containers can be fairly annoying, i find a lot of stuff that people have brought with them from sweden/denmark or ferryboats

Tomra T-63HCp Dual. Den har funnet på mye rart over tid - blant annet, havari på sorterings-dør, flere feil på tran-rot, et tonn av HCp-feil, ble stuck i bon-full ei gang, osv Når en Tomra-panteautomat går i "error" printes det ofte en error-kviterring - jeg har en del av disse som ha blitt produsert av denne maskinen 😆

In some places, glass bottles have deposits, and would be accepted. However here, it would just spit it put a say “Ingen pant” which translates to “no deposit”

The 10-cent states aren’t that bad, 10 containers for a dollar, the problem is, there’s only 3. (IR, MI, CT) All other states in the US that have deposits are 5 cents.

That sucks. Those things are crazy rare.

@ yes, i know. At our other local supermarket they had the same machine but it got replaced with a t9😢. Luckily we have an museum of an old supermarket that is discontinued. That location has a vintage Tomra t600.

That's impossible. Metal recycling will always be profitable. I live in the small town of 50,000 people, and there's THREE metal recycling centers in this town alone!

Those are technically not recycling centers - those are scrapyards. Different business model and they only mess with metals.

@@TruckFan542 That's because metals are the only material worth recycling. According to a 2018 environmental impact study by the Danish Government, metal is the only material that costs less energy to recycle than make material anew. Paper/cardboard, plastic, and glass all consume more energy (and therefore contribute significantly more to climate change) to recycle than to just make brand new paper/carboard, plastic, and glass products. So I guess when it comes to the lack of recycling in America, that could be considered either a good or bad thing depending on what your ultimate goal is. If your goal is environmental friendliness, then recycling might not necessarily be a good thing.
