I'm actually interested in the AS-80 or AD-100 for use with a BMPCC 6K Pro rig (... very heavy). Do you know if the fluid head is the same on all these models? If so, I might get the option without the fluid head and use my Sacthler ACE XL and get another head later.

You should always have two screws attatching your camera to the plate. That is a plate and screw issue and not a tripod issue.

I'm considering purchasing a factory refurbished unit (with a 1 year warranty) from Canon for $2399.🤔

for the screws getting loose I recommend using a small dab of blue locktite on a side of the screw (obviously besides the screw that goes into your camera tripod socket). it makes a significant difference

Really thorough review. Got a cheapo tripod and was thinking this would be an affordable upgrade but you just save me from making the same mistake i did with the cheapo. I'll wait it out until i can afford something more stable on heavy rigs, thanks for making this review

Regarding the video head coming loose from the ball head, your ball head should have screws or bolts to secure the connection from underneath. Take a look. Q: Does the tilt lock on the left side allow for light friction to aid with smooth tilts, or is it only for locking the tilt position?
