Slo mo shows front suspension not right
Просмотров 452 месяца назад
More testing before we can push hard.
5 passes and 5 suspension adjustments, and it runs more straight. Several things need attention now.

YOUR CAR LOOKS LIKE IT GOT A SNORKEL

Not seen this before :) Hope you and the family are well mate. See you at the pod soon no doubt. Take care
What's the latest?
Awesome build.
Brilliant video, enjoyed that
thats a great sound.
This is mental mate!!! Surely its the only drag racer MG around???
How much nitrous?
Always best to pre pressurize. Old distributor shaft engages oil pump and using a drill spins the oil pump and circulates the oil. Imperative when breaking in a new flat tapper camshaft.
what a terrible video.
Excellent, well done MIke , a good winning run.
Nice! Unexpected
Austin is flying
Awesome Engines He certianly is Dude!! What a car thats turning out to be :)
I know u need them wheels and tyres for the sport, but it looks awful! Love the way u banded the rear wheels, they would be awesome on front and rear with lower profile tyres!
Sh*t close your eyes and it sounds like a spitfire at some points.... really awesome *drool*
At least she's not tramping as much. ;-)
Another sub ten second run that takes one and three quarter minutes to watch. Have you got the Fast and Furious cameras again? ;-)
Ha Ha!! All good things take time to develop :) You should have been in the car with me. I had to change gear 11 times before I blew the welds on the intake ;)
thanks perry.he found me,love the stalker
Nice good luck on your new pb
Thanks :) It may take all this year or not happen at all. But I'm hoping to run 8 seconds with a Rover engine fitted ;) Perry
Maybe some nitrous and race fuel xD
1234sniperking I think I can do it on pump fuel. I already run some nitrous as a charge cooler for the boost. But I have another 200hp of gas left to put in if I want. If I fit my old BIG nitrous system I could stick a 600hp shot in if I fancied splitting another bock in two :)
What u running under the hood?
Rover V8 3.9 litre. Heavily modified by me ?? Thats all I'm saying ;)
Tyres good, engine good, half shafts? Bust!
Colder air so the engine's happy, slightly moist track so the tyres argue. Well held. ;-)
The track was not prepped for slick tyres to hook up. It was prepped for road tyres on that day which stopped all those folk from breaking stuff off the line. I went back the following day on a glued track to run an easy 9.6 for the first shakedown pass of this season. Perry at the Pod 190114
Binned the banded Roystyles in favor of Superslots?
She sounds like a P51. :-)
I'm sure they'll let the trailer queens run as well. ;) It's rwyb days anyway. :D
I would love to have it on the road for a few months. But unfortunately it will be too expensive to achieve Rob. So I'll be stuck on the 1/4 mile :)
Didn't realise this was a 3.9 engine. That is impressive and explains the 9's at Pod. Steve W's blue Rapid is only 400hp short then.................... ;-)
Impressive run!
Such an amazing car! Power Tour nudge nudge!!!
Can you put some lights on the front and get an M.O.T for the UK Power Tour May Day bank holiday weekend. It would be great to see you there. Details on Facebook "UK Power Tour". All the best Rob
fuck off
Took a while to get the front back down! So next stop the 8's! Oh and about that cage..............
Excellent. Glad I was at Pod to see this - was awesome Pel well done. Now get that cage welded in.
Great run. :-)
I forgot to mention. I had the stock driveshafts copied by Moser. But still run the stock diff.
She also has a 4/71 blower and nitrous and lifts both wheels most of the time now. But still controllable. I had to cut out the rear valence after I removed the fuel tank as it caught air and would go light as soon as I hit 100mph. 60 foots are all 1.4's and last Saturday she ran 9.6 seconds !
Hi Steven! The front end is all stock MGB. The rear is stock MGB cart springs + slapper bars. All spring rates are stock. The only mod is rear bump stop pedestals which I have extended so there is only 20mm of drop on the rear end before its on the rubbers. This is an old video before I modified the suspension and tyres. The only weight saving will be next year when i fit fibreglass doors and tailgate. She needs a liitle bit of steering input fro the first 100 feet or so. its now 290ci
I love watching this an other u tubes of your car. I have a MGB 1980 with 383 cu in chev and nitrous, 5 speed, 9 in ford rear end, 4 bar lnkage. I am have lots of trouble with stability at launch, at shift points and at end. What suspension do you have in the front? Have you changed out the spring rate, lowered the car etc. How much lift/weight shifting are your trying to achieve. Thanks
I think its this seasons Hilfiger range :)
Is that a ted-baker fire-suit?
It would have been nice to have run back in the 9's on this attempt but I had hot lapped and the engine was pretty warm. So i backed off the nitrous for a softer launch. You can see when she leaves the line there is a slight delay before she digs in and goes fast. It was a fun day out so i wasnt going mental with the new engine in that heat ;)
It was not a fantastic run the the MG. But it was awsome to see that monster come rolling by at the top end. When he deployed his chutes I heard them open over the sound of my own engine. :)
Good run, shame it wasn't a 9.80 as that would have looked even better. Good mind games with the burnout and staging!
Nice run!
Thats what we will be playing this Saturday John. I'm not even up on the converter when i launch yet. Just running 1800rpm on the foot brake for launch. Now we have the power dialled in I'll be trying 3000rpm for launch :) Regards Perry
If that would hook harder that would shave 3 tenths off pretty nippy for for a rover.
