Hiking the Finger Lakes Carpenter Falls and why I hike

Carpenter Falls is a 90 foot waterfall located in the Finger lakes Region. This is a fun and fairly short hike. It can be accessed from an elevated boardwalk to view from above or you can choose to hike 15 minutes down to the steep bottom for a closer look. If you hike down the stairs and make your way up the creek you can enjoy the mist of this waterfall to cool you off and take in its beauty....

Taughannock Falls state Park has multiple trails and amenities. Taughannock Falls is not to be missed if you are in the area… some travel specifically to the Ithaca area to see these falls. Agreed, hiking is therapeutic and resets your soul. Love that boardwalk path through those beautiful trees. And gorgeous waterfall and river geez! P.S. you're doing amazing talking with the camera :) (I always stop too when out in public and others approach haha) When you can you should share some of your favorite coffee places you visit, and what you order! I've recently started drinking coffee more and curious what other people like.
@@choosing_love thank you for your feed back and kind words. I always feel so blessed when I get to hike an amazing trail. Yes the talking thing is hard on the videos for me and I don’t want to intrude on other peoples hikes 🥴 but truly want to share these places with others. I do need to work on my camera angel while filming myself 😂 but this is all a learning curve and if I waited for perfection it would never happen. So I shoot for improving something each video. I’ll add some coffee places in along the ways 😁

@@ervinslens I don’t plan on talking a lot as I really enjoy my silent hikes but am try to find a balance or do a chat before or after hike… or just keep to short talks in different parts of hike 🤷♀️

@@starchyshaunamake a deadline or you’ll never do it. I gave myself deadlines no matter what things look like… just to begin or I’d never start. I’m a perfectionist so if I didn’t just jump in- it would be 10 years before I actually start😅

@lisamonalisahikes I'm sure it will. It's nice also for your friends and family. If you kick the bucket😂 they have videos saved and stored. I had a few people asking where is this? Or they went because they watched it. I got no comments for ages on my videos😁 You can see for yourself on older videos. Some recently have looked back at older videos. It took me about a good few months to pick up a little bit. You are doing better than I was😉 You film good too. I was quick moving the camera and things like that. I'm a little better now. Shorts have been good for me. It all takes time. Keep having fun❤️
@@JamieHarding5unfortunately some video I took on one of my bucket list hikes I forgot to turn camera 🤦♀️ It’s so beautiful and pains me to share the video but at the same time want to share it cause it was so beautiful. I’m trying to figure out how to make it look nice. I have learned to not turn to fast while filming (making people dizzy that watch) but I am trying 😅 I am so grateful for all your kind words and encouragement. So much I’d like to do and so many hikes and places I’d like to share. Currently it’s just me and my iPhone - I did purchase a simple microphone to cut down on wind while I walk but nothing fancy. My two main goals currently is to speak more easily and improve my quality of videos (and learn how to hold a camera that is not a strange angle making myself have a triple chin😂) Happy trails my friend

It’s a really pretty gorge just over a mile, with waterfalls and pools (no swimming allowed)
@lisamonalisahikes Such a shame no swimming. Do you know the reason? Obviously drowning but might be something else.
@@JamieHarding5this is one of the most popular state park hike in the USA - I think they don’t want to be liable and because it’s traveled so much it would hurt the environment

Out of all the lakes here, which is your favorite and why?
Hard to choose but Seneca and Cayuga are top of my list.
I’d say a Seneca cause of the hiking and towns at the north and south end of the lake. It’s central to all the lakes. It depends on what you want to do while you’re here.
Would love to check this place out one day.

@@dbproductreviews6319I tried for years to get a permit… the cost has gone up every year 🥴 Honestly it was absolutely beautiful! My daughter and I hiked in and out will all our gear- most people use mules to carry their gear in and out or take helicopters one way. Great memories!
