On Saturday August 22, 1977 I rode a steam excursion train pulled by Southern Railroad ex Texas and Pacific #610. On this excursion #610 never exceeded 30 MPH because the week before it had a bad pony truck. The new truck was being tried out on this trip so the speed restriction resulted.
