I come to you looking for help on editing hardpoints, I have some of it already figured out in that I have to edit the .damage files on mechs, I just cannot read hex code.

@@KBraid okay I believe I have found it. Thank you. I will put this to good use as I'm making a MW4 mod focused mainly on rebalancing stuff to make weaker mechs more viable, among other things.
@@KBraid Another question. I attempted to turn a regular energy hardpoint into a direct fire hardpoint on the Mad Cat, but it instead became an omnipoint. Is this that problem that you said was tied to the MechID, or is there a solution to regular hardpoints into stuff like direct-fire or ammo-consuming?
i don't fully remember the details anymore, but yes. as far as i can remember the fourth hardpoint type for each component on the mech is locked to whatever the mechid has it hardcoded to be

Hey there. I was wondering if you could help me extract sounds from mech4 mercs? I'm modding mech3 and doing a "Solaris: Tranquil" mod with George LeDoux doing some voice acting for me, but there are certain sounds from the Solaris missions I am still missing.

i'm terrible at tutorializing and MW4 modding is incredibly complicated. and at the current depth of my knowledge you can only add weapons into the game by replacing existing weapons.

What happens when you put a Flea engine in an Atlas? Anwser: Nothing, lol. You'll get a nonfunctional assault, since Atlas needs a 200-class engine for a minimal amount of power to work properly, and any Flea configuration boasts a 120-class engine.

You need to be a little more spesific, i could think of three things that fit what you are asking me. Do you mean changing their size? Yes i know how to do that. Do you mean turning hardpoint types on or off? Yes i know that one to, it's in fact the same thing as changing their size. Or do you mean switching the omni hardpoint to become other types of hardpoints? That one i do not know, as that is tied to the MechID which is a mystery i have yet to solve.

Now it's get's more hardcoded I want to edit the animation for X Pulse lasers to fire a purple burst"muzzle or firing point" instead of the blue one in MW4V the bombast laser used to do it so how to import it to the muzzle effect inside the core.mw4 that related to the X-pulse?
the fx files for the Xpulse laser can be found at numbers 6799 to 6783 in the textures subfolder of textures.mw4, mussle flashes can be found in the files between 6839 and 6877 however i do not know which ones are the flashes for the Xpulse.
Hi bro do you know how can I edit the codings in the core of clan machine gun to make it use different sound and also I don't understand how .{Hundle} works in textures
I haven't dabbled in changing sound effect code, i've only ever simply edited sound files. And my guess is .wav{handle} serves the same purpose as {Element} or {gamemodel} in that its requirement is just a quirk of the game engine making things a little more complicated then they need to be. if you open .wav{handle} with a hex editor bytes 3-4 are reference numbers for the .wav of the same name. 00 00[## ##] 02 00 00 00 01 01

So can you help me on something i want to edit all weapon options and features and i want to make lrms like LRM 5 five shots alone and i edited their art but i don't know how to make them shot like MW3 and MWO can you help me
in the weapon's hex data, set 48 and 4C (how many times the weapon fires in a salvo and how much ammo is consumed per salvo) to the decimal value of how many shots you want to fire, then 74-77 (time between shots in a salvo) which is a floating point to something small like 0.05, if that's too fast or too slow try to raise or lower that value till it comes out how you like it.

when i first saw the video on Raocow's channel, i felt it was perfect for animating! Though there are better ways of animating than mine, which works better with text than voice, i still felt like taking a crack at it.
