Avant 640 with Friction Swivel Grapple
*Originally from Advanced Tree Surgery - Facebook*
If you were wondering if friction swivel grapples were quick, check this out.
This is a man who knows what he's doing with one.
They take a bit more getting used to than a hydraulic rotating swivel grapple, or a fixed grapple, but once you get the hang of them, they are brilliant.

Offset smoker build - Old gas tank
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
Quick slideshow showing an Offset smoker build. this was constructed from an old gas tank and whatever other materials we had lying around. Works pretty well. We have cooked Beef and pork ribs, bacon, Brisket, chickens plus a few other bits and pieces. Mostly use ironbark or redgum for firewood, the drier the better. Pretty even temps across the unit. Have since added baffle plates to help this...

Very nice work, I have the 755i and absolutely love it! Avant makes amazing machines
755i is a great machine. We don't sell very many of them here in Australia, as we have the 745 which has lower emissions standards, as our laws are not as strict here. They certainly make tree work pretty easy.
Good mechine and how much
??? So a flail mower can mulch, but can a Mulcher cut grass? 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Depends on teeth fitted. This unit available either with swinging hammers or 'Y' flails depending on type of foliage being cut. The hammers are for mulching and the flails are for grass cutting, however both will work for either application, just not as efficiently.
@@mattgage5669 ....see that's totally the information I needed to make an informed choice for an implement. So the teeth on the mulchers do swing out of the way if an immovable object is "struck" ....nice...so it's all in changing the teeth between hammers(T) and flails(Y) regardless of if it's a flail mower or Mulcher
Hi Rob, yes on this Mulcher the teeth swing out of the way, 'swinging hammers'. Fixed hammer mulchers are also available but have a much heavier duty rotor and normally are a more open front design to allow larger material to enter. These are normally referred to as a 'forestry mulcher'. On this unit, the swinging hammers and the Y flails are interchangeable on the same rotor.
We make this video on our SERAFIN OPEN DAYS in Poland in 2022.
Hi mate would you have a plan of the measurements of the whole tray?
Unfortunately not mate as we just made it up as we went along. Cheers
Nice build, what size is your smoke stack and length?
thanks. it is stainless tube about 120mm diameter X 1.2m long. it is removable so the smoker can still go through a door, or else it's too high. also has a damper on top for controlling airflow. a larger diameter probably would have been better.
The smoke stack is quite thin, however the smoke coming out the top is still very hot on exit. I think part of the issue also is that here in Australia we have very hard and hot burning timber. Redgum or Ironbark seem to be the best, provided they are seasoned correctly, however you have to keep an eye on it regularly as it can get quite hot quite quickly, this is probably also accentuated by the fact it is a smaller chamber.
Really nice work How tall are the side bent panels ? You fabricate or bought them ?
Thanks mate, side are approx 230mm, designed the profile and got a sheet metal joint to fold them up out of 2mm steel and then cut to length
Do you have a link to tail lights just starting on my build your one be one of the nicest builds on here love it
Gday Craig the lights are called Maxilamp Singles made by LED Autolamps. Link here: ledautolamps.com/combination-lamps/669-maxilamp-singles.html. There are a few different styles and lens covers. I got these from an auto electric store called JAS Oceania but they are available from Ebay and also NAPA auto parts. they arent all that cheap but they are pretty good. They also do patch leads so you can plug into the vehicle wiring harness without cutting it to bits. Thanks as well, took a fair while but come up alright. Cheers.
Nice build what thickness you use on c channel
Hi mate is 50x25. Got from a steel joint in Melbourne
Looks excellent. Where did you get the hinges and latches?
