Girlz to MEN A documentary about trans men
#transgender #lgbtq #translivesmatter #netflix #davechappelle
This documentary was created out of curiosity about transgender so I asked Jaye, Chevy, & Gino, who are transgender men, to share a bit of“their” authentic stories.

    I don't get it bro like why do women even wanna be dudes? Aren't women allowed to wear masculine clothing already? It's more socially acceptable to be a masculine female than it is to be a feminine guy. lmao

    • @corenisveryconfused
      @corenisveryconfused 7 месяцев назад

      You are soo close to getting it. So close. We don't transition because of clothes and most certainly not to be "socially acceptable" We transition to be more comfortable with ourselves and our bodies despite the fact people will treat us poorly for it because to be at home in your own body is more important. I'm assuming you are a guy, and I'm assuming you wouldn't want to be a masculine woman. Same thing for us, before I knew what being transgender was I knew I was a boy. As young as three. Trying to be a "masculine woman" didn't work. I tried that.

    • @ocdbrain
      @ocdbrain 7 месяцев назад

      @@corenisveryconfused didn't say u wanted to transition to be socially acceptable. Women can embody the male persona to a T and live their life while a fem guy probably gets to do the same but is more likely to get the crap kicked out of him or have some bs happen to him cuz he acts fem but hey I'm just assuming. The dysphoria thing yeah I get it but why not just be a stud? I guess the dysphoria is too much. The dysphoria wants u to be whatever it wants you to be. What are u thoughts on non binary btw?

    • @corenisveryconfused
      @corenisveryconfused 7 месяцев назад

      @@ocdbrain Unfortunately being a trans man or being a butch cis woman still comes with violence. Fem guys do get treated like crap though. I've heard plenty of stories about butch women getting beat up for using the women's restroom, and one of the guys in this video was sadly murdered recently. And for me dysphoria really is a huge thing. Before starting testosterones, my body was obviously craving it. I felt way better on T than off, and the more masculine my body the better my mental health has been and the more confident I've become. Even my mother who was against it could tell, she says I'm a lot calmer and happier on T. In the end I'm just going off of what feels good. Being seen as a man in my day to day life feels good to me, having a more male body feels good to me, it feels right. Being called a woman, a female or anything associated with that feels disrespectful and forced, it just doesn't fit. Nothing inherently bad about it, it just isn't for me. My thoughts on non-binary is, it's existed in all sorts of cultures up until pretty recently and a lot of my non-binary friends have pretty intense dysphoria as well, it's just not as broadly placed as mine is. That and some of them just really don't give a fuck about gender and don't want to be placed in boxes, just want to exist. So people should just be respectful, let them do them.

      In my experience…I and most trans men I know all have a much deeper respect for women. Period. We don’t choose to change genders. We choose to be authentic. You probably don’t know what it is like for your brain and minds eye to know who you are and the mirror and society to say different. It is so hard to explain. It isn’t like being overweight and just knowing you should be skinny. It is so much more than that. Science has proven it happens in the womb. It is in the brain. In development. It isn’t mental illness. The brain developed one way and the body in the opposite. As my transition gets further along…the mirror is seeming so much more familiar. I used to look at myself in such disbelief. In my dreams I am a man. 100%. Now my body and life experiences are starting to align and it is overwhelming in such a good way. Everyone has struggle. Some more than others for sure. For me, this was about escaping wanting to die because it was like waking up into a nightmare everyday. Grown cis people don’t think about things like being called ma’am or sir, it is just a right to respect. For a trans person being called ma’am or sir in the preferred gendered greeting…it’s like being a little kid and someone addresses you like a grown person for the first time. You feel proud and like you are somebody. You are seen and important. For most, pronouns are just words that get tossed around everyday. For trans people they can be dangerous. They can put you in danger with people who don’t know you. They can make you suicidal. They can make you walk a little taller or add to your confidence and set the right tone for your whole day. There is so much more to being trans. Maybe some consider it a perk to not have the weight of the world on a woman’s shoulders. Maybe some Trans women consider it a perk to not have to “be a man” about whatever. However, that is not the reason I have ever heard of someone transitioning.

      @@ziaratiara4288 life can be difficult to navigate being trans, cis, or however a person wants to identify themselves as. Unfortunately, when people aren't use to, or don't understand something they tend hate instead of listening and trying to understand. (This goes for anything, which ironically ain't nothing new in Gods world... We been here forever). I always tell folks that ask "why"...why not. Thankfully we live in an era where transitioning is possible. And since we as people have choices, put it this way us Transman, black Transman are out here being seen as "public enemy number 1", plus have no dick... Come on now, you really have to want something bad. Don't get it twisted, being a man is more than what's in your pants. 99.9% of folks ain't gonna know what u got unless you do porn anyway; it's perception. Everyone wants to feel and be seen as who they are is what it boils down to.
