He was a carpenter when that coach of Greek origin (name?) recruited him directly from the fourth league. He repaid that trust despite all the criticism to serve the national team for 13 years and break every record coming his way. ... Can we take a moment!? 🙊

Als in Österreich damals der Strom wegging und nur ein Schweizer Fernsehteam noch Saft für den O-Ton eines EM-Live-Spiels hatte, ...also um das Spiel der deutschen Nationalmannschaft quasi wenigstens wie Sabine Töpperwien auf WDR2 am Samstagnachmittag zu übertragen... da hätte ich die Dunkelheit des Bildes ähnlich schmunzelnd genutzt, selbst wenn es mich meine Karriere als Fernsehmoderator gekostet hätte: `Aus dem Hintergrund kommt Rahn, ...Rahn müsste schießen....` Oft grinse ich seither leise wie breit vor mich hin, ...angesichts der Vorstellung all jener verdutzten Gesichter an Deutschlands Fernsehern... Ich glaub, das ging eher an den Müller, der da im Hintergrund rumläuft (sieht man 2:18 teilweise); der ist doch so ein Pferdenarr. Also er hat doch auch in irgendeinem Interview mal gesagt, dass er tatsächlich oft, wenn andere Spieler abends an der Konsole Fifa zocken, er sich stattdessen Pferdevideos anguckt, um passende Deckhengste für seine Pferdestuten zu finden (such einfach mal nach Thomas Müller und Hengstvideos, dann dürftest du das passende Interview finden).
