    I hate my 07 Tundra SR5 4x4....it has 305,000+ miles and won't stop running. It's awful!! Had to change a starter, a front wheel bearing, fix a leaking valley panel, fix a leaking valve cover.......that's it. Best money I've ever spent!!!!!

    Another video suggests that the main bearing design itself is the problem, that machining debris is a smoke screen for the bad design. This would explain why the problem is independent of which facility produced this engine. Also, 2024 Tundras are also seeing engine problems as well as hybrid and nonhybrid versions. These of course are the same design. This video keeps redirecting attention away from the problem by talking about hydrogen and other engines. This whole thing is a huge problem for Toyota.

    Turbo engine is the only downside. Naturally aspirated V6 is a bullet-proof engine that gives 3 to 4 mpg less than Turbo. But, will easily go to 300k with basic maintenance.

    • @ToyotaKingdom
      @ToyotaKingdom 16 дней назад

      It's going to be hard for Toyota to live up to the previous engines as far as reliability, but I believe Toyotas engineers will surprise us as they continue to develop and perfect this engine.

    • @jensalan
      @jensalan 7 дней назад

      The 4.0L V6 hasn't always been bulletproof. The head gaskets are known to fail in the early 4th gen 4runners basically requiring a new engine if not caught before it overheats. I average 16mpg with my 2008 4runner. If I can average 22-23, that's a huge win.
