This wonderful number - from a very uneven movie with a lot of long slow spots - shows two things: 1. Ann Sheridan was a wonderfully bright, sexy actress who could do comedy with the best of them. (If you haven't seen her in *The Man who Came to Dinner*, stop everything right now and hunt it down.) 2. She was wasted in a lot of Warner Brothers movies in roles that gave her nothing to work with. Thank your Lucky Stars, the movie from which this comes, shows that several of the actors on the Warner Brothers lot in those days could do more than they were asked to do regularly. Bette Davis is great in her sardonic "They're either too old or two young," Erol Flynn ditto in his bar room song. Flynn's eternal sidekick, Alan Hale, is not bad in a comic dance number. In short, for me, this movie, while entertaining, is full of a lot of "If only..." moments.
Ann made a few 'To tell the truth" shows as a Panelist and my best friend was a contestant. He is no longer with us for over 30 years passed. I've done a frantic search for her 6 shows and only came across one of them. They seem to have many on youtube, but i still could not find it. I remember Ann told my friend as she was questioning him as they do on that show, that he was a good liar.
My favourite actress ever!!! The most talented and versatile, beautiful and glamorous but down to earth, a beloved trouper and with a lot of humour and irony!
Great song. BUT Dinah's dress is horrible.
And when you walk alone and forlorn and then you hear a Cadillac horn remember Love isn't born it's made!
l
Absolutely stunning.
That shocked look at 2:29 gets me every time I😂
SHE DIED WAY TO YOUNG....
Indian women thinking their white
Love Ann

Anthony Did your friend have anything else to say about Annie?
Escaped the censor only because its so witty and playful, never actually spells out straight what it's about. Sex.
About as naughty as movies could be in 1943. Basically, forget romance and use sex to get what you want.
Xcgg
god i fucking LOVE her dress. i want something like it!!!!
It's a dressing gown....
Yes it is gorgeous. Satin fabric is beautiful.
Yes I think that A S is simply up over and beyond too. Yes that's right , the girl with the SOLIDOX smile is good too. Joyce Reynolds.
Love this song
I think the grinning girl is Joyce Reynolds...who played her sister in George Washington Slept Here.
Love this, and agree with all the Ann-loving comments. But question: who's the grinning gal with Ann? Teresa (sp?) Wright (sp?)?
Jay Taylor It's Hillary Clinton.
Joyce Reynolds. Kinda looks like Teresa Wright though. She really tried to steal that scene!
killercapo as if ANYONE could steal that scene from Ann Sheridan!
I watch this weekly. Annie had the best strut- evah!
The best scene in Thank Your Lucky Stars!
Awww Annie. What oomph!
