Our 6 day trip to Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia) was a proper adventure! We did it together with our friends, the Fourie family, so we were 5 children (aged 8-13) and 4 adults. We had a blast despite the poor weather!
There is a lot to do in KK for adventurous families, so thoroughly recommend it - may be just avoid the rainy season (clearly November is such).
We first trekked up Mount Kinabalu - a two day trek. We made it to base camp at 3,272m in very rough weather (rain, wind, cold) . Unfortunately the summit (at 4,000m) was closed because of the weather, but we are still super proud of the kids who were absolute troopers even when lips were blue from the cold.
