Brutal honesty. Pure attitude. Love him or hate him, Gilden is a legend.
Daido Moriyama will give you a good humble lecture.
That wasnt a great talk ,OK , moving on, next, ok, underdog, OK Rich not all rich, OK ,New York OK.
How much did you pay to see his photos? Go ahead.
honest to the bone- which shows in his work
Legend of Magnum.
he needs to stop taking faceshots of random addicts on the street just because he used to be a crackhead himself, its not consensual and its humiliating for the person, you don't have the right to do whatever the hell you want just because you're a subpar photographer who used to smoke methamphetamine. exploiting someone for personal gain is disgusting and creepy, I hope he got smacked for it eventually.
damn dude hot take
I mean the guy does have a point. Gilden gets a ton of hate for the way he depicts his subjects and you can very well argue he was exploiting them. I like his work but some pics do push the boundaries of human decency
Legend
What a great fellow Bruce is
Any know what S lens Gilden used for the later projects?
Stupendous, humble, from the street, supports the underdog, and shoots the street, thanks for posting this, complete legend, no bs
In FRANCE you also can freely take pictures of everything or everybody on a PUBLIC PLACE (Sources : Police, Lawyers) Its' more difficult to freely publish without permission in some cases.
Leica presents: G’head
"Thats a Junkie... He was great"
What a joke - tech idiots cant organise a piss up in a brewery!
Leica presents - ballsup!
glad they tested the audio before such an important interview
Bruce is an incredible character, love to hear more of his stories. You can tell how tough he's had it by just looking at his pictures and the stories he creates out of them.
I ran out of volume on my computer to hear this. A shame as I like to hear Joe. The second video from Photo London Fair so ruined. Properly set up microphones go a long way.
No in your face flash shots?
he is awesome but what's the point of going through 123456 photos at full speed with one or two words for each one?
Why so the people filing these never think about viewers and we end up not being able to see the images very well?
..photos and one- liners,...50's- 60's borscht belt material..
Brutally honest street photography.
FUKIN LEGEND.
Good talk - no excuse for such poor audio
We can stay here and not let them in! Nice answer Joel. As always, watching your lectures,I learned something new! Thanks a lot!
Gave up after 2 mins..Pardon..I can't hear ya!!
does someone count the number of times he say go ahead , i wonder i am not to busy ...
Even if the production was off, I still really enjoyed the show. Maybe next time photo London fair could make the photographic screen larger for the viewers. Always a treat to see Gilden's work and his raw perspective.
Love it but the audio is so low. Thanks for posting.
🎧
Drink everytime Bruce says, "g'head".
